I was slightly concerned about trying to visit this Kelham Island institution on a Friday evening but as it happened, although it was busy we managed to initially get seated in the bar room and then when this started getting uncomfortably busy managed to move to the room across the corridor which I felt was a more comfortable room to sit in.A flag flying pub for real ale since the beginning there is always an impressive ale offering to be had and nowadays it is the tap pub for the Kelham Island Brewery located behind the pub and three of their beers were on for our visit. I went for the regular Kelham Island Pale Rider which I thought it would be rude not to try on an inaugural visit. This is a fantastic pub but if I am honest I think I marginally preferred the nearby Kelham Island Tavern. But the good news is that these two great pubs are within spitting distance of each other so itâs easy to do the KIT - CAT crawl and decide for yourself.

The Millhouses has recently been taken over by K & L Inns Ltd and is highly focused on providing great homemade food, freshly prepared using quality locally sourced ingredients, served by our friendly and professional team.
Not very happy. Had the battered cod which was actually over cooked (mushy peas dry) my wife had fish finger sandwich but was not given an option(baguette, toast, bread) and also over cooked. Never asked if we wanted dessert so paid and left. Disappointed as we have visited on previous occasions and been happy with the meal and service - but not today.

The Wortley Arms was originally built as a coach house in 1753 at a cost of 188 pounds and 66 shillings! After an extensive renovation period we reopened our doors in November 2006.You will find we have retained many of the features that have given this h
We popped in for lunch as we are thinking of having our wedding reception here in 2020, the function rooms upstairs are superb. Full of heritage and historic splendour. We were seated by the lovely Lesley who is absolutely amazing, fantastic service, excellent rapport and so welcoming. We ordered a variety of meals with the starter course being incredible, the tomato tarte tatin and the pork belly croquettes were super, the puffed pork skin and dried black pudding were off the charts. We then had one Burger, one vegetarian tagliatelle and the fabulous fish and chips which were all delicious, fresh and plentiful. The fish was especially divine! Finished with a chocolate brownie and honey comb, simply splendid. We absolutely loved the lunch and will be making Wortley Arms a favourite on our list for meals, treats and beautiful surroundings. Lesley, your amazing, made the lunch even more memorable, thank you.

When I fancy a steak pie, this is my go-to place and such fantastic value. Where can you get a choice of pie and a pint of Bradfield Blonde for £6.50 (small portion) or £8.50 (large portion). We have always found the staff efficient and friendly and now they have extended the pub, there is much more space to dine. However, it is advisable to book, as every time we have been, it is jam packed. The Nags Head is a good old-fashioned, down to earth, reasonably-priced pub and there aren't many of those around!

Visited here for the first time today after a recommendation from a friend. The food was so nice. I had the fish finger sandwich and it was proper chunks of fish. The homemade chips are really nice as well. Onion rings were my favourite. You can tell everything is home made. Liam and Dave were fantastic, and weâre quite happy entertaining my baby. Will defiantly be back! Thanks for a great visit guys!

Visited on a Tuesday afternoon with friends. We were warmly welcomed and shown to our table whilst Turkish music was played softly through the sound system. There is a large choice of foods and everything that we had was delicious. Food and drinks were reasonably priced, a very enjoyable visit. We shall visit again.

The Doctor's Orders is a traditional family owned pub in the heart of Sheffield's Medical and Student district. We pride ourselves on providing great value home cooked produce, with an emphasis on fast lunches and quality evening meals, all in the comfort
We tried eating here after seeing good reviews. The menu was very limited, but we all found something we liked. The adults ordered the millenial burger and the kids chicken nuggets. Nuggets were great but the purple carrots didn't go down well! The burgers were also delicious, but the bacon on it left a lot to be desired. Strange coloured and barely cooked. More fat than bacon. No medallions either, just fat. The pub also felt grubby, the tables were sticky and the carpets unhoovered. Covered in bits. Such a Shane.

Open for brunch, lunch and dinner. Angel and Harlequin Bistro offers brunch, coffee and cakes followed by a full menu for lunch and dinner. We are able to cater for large parties and have areas that welcome dogs
Five of us booked for Sunday lunch. The staff were very understanding when I phoned to say that we'd had a hold up and would be 20 minutes late. Our food was nicely cooked apart from my daughter's creme brulee which tasted fine but the texture was rather grainy. 2 other desserts were shown on the menu with accompanying ice creams which turned out to be unavailable, so we had to have them with less interesting ice cream. My daughter regularly eats at this restaurant and assured us that this is a one off.Hi thank you for your review. We had a issue with one of the freezers so lost a lot of ice cream. Hense why we were short ice creamHopefully see you again

After reading all the excellent reviews, we decided to visit The Devonshire Arms for breakfast. We liked the lovely decor, nice ambience and the coffee was good. We decided on the offer they had for 2 breakfasts for £10, so bearing that in mind, it was good value. However, our bacon was hard and overcooked and the egg was solid and if we had been paying the full price of £8 each, it was not good value! Perhaps we were expecting too much after all the good reviews. I think we should probably return for dinner to give it another try!Good evening Pip Thank you for taking time to leave us a review I am so disappointed you didn't enjoy your breakfast Our kitchen never intend to send food out that is not up to our high standards I can only apologise I just wish you would have mentioned at the time it would have been replaced immediatelyIf you wouldn't mind contacting me on our various contact details and let me know when you visited ect I can ensure it doesn't happen again I promise you, you were not expecting too much What you received was not acceptable

A sporting haven, we show all the live sport you could possibly imagine! Along with great drinks, fantastic coffee and wonderfully fresh food produced from locally sourced produce. Give us a try, and look out for our offers!
Plus points:+good burgers (chicken and beef)+good portion sizes +good value Downsides:-bad service, bar staff were impolite and merely pointed when I asked about our table booking-slow service -no table service, wouldnât normally mind but we had to queue in a queue of people 4 deep all the way across the bar-had to ask for menus-broken glass all over the place May be with mentioning that the place was packed but they should have had more staff work- not the customers fault Tip: book a table Tip: this is not a laid back evening meal type of place, this is a sports barApologies for your experience. Not an excuse however Saturday night for the #UCL final was the busiest night we have had, with hour food service of our full menu. It is still no excuse for rude behaviour or a lack of attention. We have a team meeting on Tuesday and I will print your review and use this to address the issues you have highlighted. These types of things are extremely frustrating, as I feel with a minimum of effort and politeness, we could have given you a great evening with us.Regards,Adrian.
