This place closed a short few months after opening. The new guy leasing the place put together a typical diner type menu that was uninspired at best. Regardless, I will not lament as the joint closed, much as I predicted to many people i know after an awful breakfast. Any new owner should avoid a predictable diner vibe - that market is full in this area with all the Italian pizza places around Oburg, Josies, 3C's and Robin's have the breakfast market cornered. Harken back to the days of Madeline's: a robust bar/pub environment frequented by residents of nearby Pinebrook who are looking for food that is different, daily creative specials, a happy hour, and prices that reflect the quality of the food. Keep lunches $6-$12 and dinners $8-$25 with reasonable booze prices and it will work. The Pinebrook crowd will come back and spend money and make the place as successful as Madeline's if you follow the Madeline's blueprint.

First visit here. We had a hard time finding parking even at 5:30 on a Saturday night. The upstairs was almost empty and we were told we could sit anywhere without a chalkboard. Those tables were reserved. We asked if we could go downstairs and they said there was one table with 2 chairs open. The downstairs was nice but a little dark. It was hard to see the menus. I chose broiled scallops, mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli. While we waited for our food, we checked out the tunnel and that was interesting. The scallops were done perfectly and had a hint of garlic. Mashed potatoes were homemade with gravy and delicious. The broccoli was almost raw and I had a hard time cutting it. I would love to come back here with a group of people and eat downstairs again. Only negatives were the undone broccoli and we didn't get bread with our meal.
Rumors is a friendly local pub with made to order food, a nice selection of makt beverages and liquor. We are continually told we have the best food in the area at reasonable rates. Outstanding steaks, chops, Best Caesar Salad, Best Burgers and more. Our
Is this place open or closed? I am assuming this is the place in the Ramada, which I thought was closed. You would have to park in the lot near Rt 61 and it would be a bit of a walk especially for old folks or disabled. Last I saw it was an attempt at an upper scale steak house. We are upper scale just excellently done cook to order steaks, seafood, burgers, chicken and chops at 661 N. Centre St a if tan building.

I think the best part of this place is the smoker. Wings are good, beer is priced right, owner is very friendly, but the smoked stuff is the best!

We had heard great things about this small-town restaurant and now that we have finally gotten here, we will definitely be returning!Don't let the "small-town restaurant" idea throw you off. This restaurant is definitely top-notch in both atmosphere & food!!!!! As we were waiting for our meals to arrive (that was the only downfall of the evening....a bit slow on the service), we commented that the restaurant was actually quiet & very conducive to a relaxing meal. Too often, we have dined at highly-rated restaurants and have had issues with the noise level. Definitely not a concern here! Our server was extremely friendly and, after we told her that this was our first visit, offered suggestions & more-than-ample descriptions of menu & Special of the Day items.I wanted a simple meal so I ordered the Chicken Quesadillas. Very happy with both the flavor & portion size......had enough leftovers to take home for my next day's lunch. My spouse decided to go with the Prime Rib. It was highly touted by our server and she was right. A flavorful piece of beef, prepared perfectly to his medium-rare request. He was also very impressed with his side dishes........a Baked Potato & Harvard Beets......both served piping hot!!!! We highly recommend a visit to this restaurant. We drove almost an hour to get here......and with the warm, attentive service & wonderful food that we received, we'll be more than happy to put more mileage on our car to continue to dine here in the future.
To be fair, the night we tried Bum's they were very busy and the staffed seemed overwhelmed. That being said, we waited a very very long time for our meal to be served. Which we could of dealt with if the food was outstanding. However it was just OK. Not bad but not great either. It's a casual place that serves burgers and pulled pork,..etc. I tried the jambalaya...it had a great flavor but lacked in the meat department. It only had 2 slices of sausage and very little of any other meats. Mostly just peppers and onions. My wife's pulled pork sandwich was tasty but sloppy and greasy. The entire staff was very friendly and apologetic, so that was a plus. I feel bad about giving Bum's this mediocre review because they are just starting up...but the facts are the facts. We will try it again on a week day when they aren't as busy and see if the experience is better.

My family recently went out to celebrate my sister's birthday. We were visiting Pottsville and this tavern was close to our hotel. It was perfect. The menu had something for everyone with choices from pub snacks to entrees. There was live music that night was a nice surprise. We would definitely go back for more.

Our local friends invited us to Thanksgiving dinner here. They took the "family style" option and the whole table were passing platters of turkey, ham, mashed potatos, candied yams, and Pennsylvania bread filling (very fluffy and light). Service was fast and friendly and based on the experience I would gladly come back for the regular menu.Apple pie was a high point... seemed fresh made.

It looks to still be open, but no longer open for lunch. I guess Mike still owns it and I heard Johnny Morrison sometimes works behind the bar. I stay out of Haven due to their PD DUI hunting antics, but this is probably a good place for someone who lives in Haven and can walk. Mike has run bars for quite some time so I may have to stop and pay a visit. Typical Skook bar. Its a bit dark inside which is ok with me and you may catch a breeze when the door opens.

Our 24-voice Sweet Adeline chorus was in town for a performance and needed a spot to eat and drink. I looked online for a place that would fit our requirements (cheap food, bar drinks, and open late on a Monday night) and found Millie's Kitchen @ Uptown Tavern. I knew it didn't look like much from the outside as I had driven by a few days earlier, but we needed a place where we could just take over. This place worked for us.There were only two people at the bar when I entered and let the owner know that a large crowd was descending upon them. They were quite accommodating and moved tables and even the pool table so we could all sit together. We shared menus while John started taking drink orders electronically with his tablet. Most of us ordered something that was bottled to make it easier for John since there were so many of us. The food was terrific. Freshly made by Millie for each of us. Serving size was generous for the price. Folks around me had the burgers, tuna melt, and wings. I had the cheesesteak and could individualize it by choosing the kind of cheese, additives to the sauce, etc. All of this was on his tablet and that made checkout quite simple, too.It took a bit of time to get our food but we knew that would happen since there were so many of us and we did not call ahead. While we were there, several others came in for take out. You could tell this was a local hangout and a popular place for grabbing dinner to go. Millie finally came out to meet all of us and we sang Happy Birthday to her since we learned it was her birthday week. We were looking for a place where we could be noisy, sing when we wanted to without bothering others, and basically take over the place. This worked for us. It doesn't look like much from the outside and, honestly, doesn't look like much from the inside. But the food is great and we'll be back. I think next time, we'll let them know we're coming!
