Four adults had a 3 course Sunday lunch. A diverse selection of starters (around 5) and a similarly wide selection of puddings (sticky toffee, banoffee etc.) were available. Main courses included Roast - chicken, beef, lamb or pork plus a vegetarian option and a pie option which was chicken, ham and leek. A wider choice of mail courses is available at other times. An excellent selection of well-cooked vegetables were provided. Our drinks included 2.5 pints of Timothy Taylors Landlord, a soft drink and a large glass of Rioja. Total bill £78.The quality of food was excellent as was the service. If anyone can tell me where I can get a better meal (and please don't mention the Raby Hunt) and better value for moneywithin 20 miles of here, please pm me through Trip Advisor.

Called in for lunch midweek whilst visiting friends in the area. New manageress friendly and welcoming, making lots of changes and refurbishment very much a work in progress. Lovely building and check out the shepherds huts in the garden ! We all had steak sandwich and twice cooked chips, steak cooked exactly as we requested and very tasty. Would definately have a meal there again and am looking forward to trying the evening menu.

We were staying next door to this hotel/pub so decided to pop in for dinner. Service was friendly and the food was traditional pub type food. We really enjoyed it and the price was very reasonable. There is a good menu along with specials available.

We are a traditional English country pub, surrounded by spectacular views four miles from the nearest town of Richmond. We pride our selves on good traditional bar meals made from locally sourced ingredients. we also have Six letting rooms comprising of f
We found this (one of a number of Shoulder of Mutton establishments in the area, so pay heed to the postcode. We arrived at dinnertime and had excellent food â bangers and mash and the burger. Both were excellent. The beer was very good and we had a nice chat with the landlady about dogs, the local area, and so on. The room was nice, if small, but it is a very old building. I had a fantastic night's sleep â eventually â but my other half had to take our puppy out to the car as he simply would not settle*. Every time we settled him, he would go mad and sit by the door. In the end, she most of spent an uncomfortable night in the car with him to prevent him keeping up the whole house. I was lucky as I was driving the next day. Breakfast was very high quality, but we had to put the dogs in the car as the breakfast room is the dining room. This should be borne in mind if you have a dog you cannot leave on its own. Overall, it is a lovely dog friendly pub serving excellent food in a beautiful location. * It seems another couple with dogs had been staying before us in another room and they had left bowls of wet food open all the time they were there. The smell had lingered in the room (others were in there that night) and while we couldn't smell it, the puppy probably could and this is what made him so excitable. Even after this, we'd definitely be willing to give it another go as it was a lovely place.

This is a country pub in the Yorkshire Dales. It has a couple of rooms in the bar and then again two rooms upstairs for the restaurant.
I have known about this pub for years but never had a meal. We went here tonight via a gift for christmas. I wish now that we had gone before as the food was great.I started with the Baked goat cheese with fig and salad, my good lady had the black pudding stack. Both were really tasty ( we do try each others food ) and portions are of a good size.We then moved on to our main course of Kleftico which was a really good portion of slow cooked lamb with vegtables and potatoes. A really good meal and perfectly cooked. Finished with a couple of Latte.Loved it so much that we booked straight after the meal for another table next month.

A lovely laid back pub, suitable for all occasion...
Called in for Sunday lunch off spec and was accommodated with pleasant staff. The food was delicious and a great selection of beers on draught. Meat was delicious and vegetables cooked perfect. Not the cheapest Sunday lunch but you pay for the quality and wasnât disappointed with the bill.
