Local family run pub, a stones throw from the ELR railway line, based in the centre of Ramsbottom. Great cask ales & home cooked food available.
Our first visit since the pub undergone a major refurbishment and it's a big improvement. Sat outside and improved facilities include an outside bar in beer garden. Some booths have a roof which was handy in the rain and also a wall heater , great as evening got cooler. Only negative was very slow to get served at outside bar

Called in The Red Lion today for lunch, a pub I haven't visited for several years but what a nice place to be. I had the fish and chips from the main menu, the fish was probably the best pub fish I've had anywhere and to be honest it was so big I had to leave the chips that accompanied it. My wife selected from the light lunch menu and had a garlic mushroom starter over sour dough bread followed by sea bass with crushed potatotatoes and veg which she thoroughly enjoyed. The house Shiraz was very nice and the service was excellent. I'm glad we went and will definitely return.Thank you for your comments, really glad you enjoyed your meals and look forward to seeing you again soon.

Our first visit to this pub for food with friends. Didnât know what to expect but very pleasantly surprised. All of our meals were of top quality, beautifully presented and definitely not your run of the mill pub grub. There is obviously a talented chef in the kitchen. Although busy the service was professional and attentive. Looking forward to visiting again to try one of the themed nights or Sunday lunch.

5 of us went on a Saturday night to celebrate a birthday.Got a good table next to the fire. We got looked after by two waitresses both of whom were greatâprofessional, friendly and very efficient. We chose some baked Camembert and bread and oil and then two waves of small plates with some fries over the next couple of hours. Everything was delicious and well presented. A successful night, in a good atmosphere. Highly recommended.Well done!

Local pub serving homemade food. Family and dog friendly. Real fire and selection of 5 cask ales and 30+ gins
Nice pub with a good selection of beers. Tried the food. Not great. The chips were soggy and oil soaked steak pie bland with no flavour. We go back but just for the beer.

We went to this lovely resteraunt on a whim the other day and found it changed from pub grub into a real gem. The food was superb and the atmosphere charming. I had a steak which was melt in the mouth and my partner had the fish and chips with a pea puree he enjoyed every mouthful. The sweets were equally marvellous. I would certainly have no hesitation of recommending this lovely resteraunt.Hi J8152KHmichaelsWe are absolutely thrilled to hear that your chance visit turned into a memorable experience, thank you for taking the time to leave us a sterling review! We have recently recruited a new kitchen team, so it's wonderful to hear that they are succeeding in putting their stamp on our fantastic food offering and it's being enjoyed by all our guests.
