Find out what Pub restaurants to try in Quincy. Perched on the bluffs overlooking the mighty Mississippi, Quincy's landmark architecture, dogwood-lined streets and rolling green parks tell of a long and tiered history. Its location on the border of Missouri made it an ideal station point for the Underground Railroad, once in the aid of Mormons and later helping African Americans flee the slave states. Not a high class place. A bar along the bay north of the Quincy. Live bands outside during good weather.
We have only been there for drinks, so I can not comment on the food. It is the place to be, but despite the crowd service was fast!

We stopped by Applebee's a year or so ago and the service and food were both very mediocre. We decided to stop in again to give them a chance. This time we were shocked at how good the service was. The meals were both hot and fresh and tasted great! I'd happily go back again and again if it always like this. We shall see..

Here I am, 2000 miles from home and trying a chain that has a branch a mile from my house...glad I did. While not the best burger I've tasted, was still pretty good. The appetizers ... fried mushrooms and pickle chips were excellent! We also found the game consoles and mutiple screen tvs to be enjoyable.

We would visit every Sun for the 1/2 priced thai. Our favorite appetizer was the giant fried mushrooms...no longer on menu. I know many people who went just for the mushrooms! Thai is good but last time we went they refused to cook the spices into the food...what? They now give to u on the side! Also...they have the large projection...why not actually utilize it? We've been there when they had 3 stooges on and also Garfield...play a decent movie and with sound. We won't be back.

Great old time corner bar. Good bar menu- burgers, hot dogs, horse and pony shoes, chili, and daily specials. Back room for gatherings and parties. A favorite of local law enforcement types. If you're a robber, this is a very poor choice! Even though it's a bar, lots of families and kids here.

Had a very good tropicana salad w/added chicken at a reasonable price. Added three shrimp to mine at $2 each that seemed very expensive for their size. The service we had was below average, as we were never checked on, and we had to wait for most everything.

My wife recommended this place for a nice dinner on a Saturday night. Sure didn't disappoint.Had drinks and just enjoyed the night. I ordered the Shrimp Kabobs and she had the Parmesan Crusted Salmon. Both excellent choices. Food was great. Service was OK, nothing spectacular. But, would definitely go back.

We enjoyed our meal here at the Tavern. We were in the area doing some sight seeing and chose this place for its Famous Salad Bar (at least that is what their web site says). We did enjoy the salad bar. They had three different types of green leaf salad options. They had multiple prepared salads as well. We really enjoyed their broccoli salad. The soup they are renowned for their Kelly's Cheese soup was not one of our favorites. Seemed a bit too processed cheese taste for our liking. They also had fried chicken wings on the salad bar which was a nice touch. The best part was the cinnamon rolls and desert offerings that accompanied the salad bar. For $8.99 the salad bar was not a bad deal for the quantity of food available. However it is an obstacle course getting to the salad bar. It is definitely tight quarters with all the tables and booths (not to mention servers) that have to be dodged to get your meal. The booth we were seated in was quite cramped and small for todays standards. This is a busy local Irish Pub. It is popular for sure. We enjoyed our meal and the atmosphere. The only knock we have is the lack of space of the dining arrangements for four people and the obstacle course through a full restaurant to get to their Salad Bar. Still overall we would go back maybe at off peak dining hours to enjoy this place again when in the area.

I live in a city right across the river and somehow never knew about this place. The rustic atmosphere pairs perfectly with the comfort food offered on the menu. The pictures I took donât do the food justice. The Mac and Cheese pictured was my choice of side and was filling on its own, and I loved that it was served in a mini cast iron skillet. Itâs sometimes the little touches that make a good dining experience for me and mine. Weâll be back!
