Saturday evening dinner on the deck, nice atmosphere with a view. Our server Polly seemed to be a little overwhelmed and had a little difficulty handling her tables. Cocktails - Served in a timely manor, just okay because the red wine had either fruit or drain flies in it.Appetizer - Ordered the smelts fo the table, perfectly done and tasty.Main Meal - Fish overcooked, side of green beans came out cold and looked as shriveled as a 90 year old lady in a bathtub. Ordered fried clams because Polly stated there were a lot on an order; informed her didnt want the fires so could I have the spinach instead, she replied yes but there is an up-charge (wait for it). Order of fried clams come minus the fries as ordered and (ARE YOU KIDDING ME) 12 fried clams on the small size ($24.00!!) it gets better. The other plates ordered sweet potatoes for their side and they get a small sweet potato cut in half. This is where it gets better, bill comes and I see the up-charge for the spinach that was literally the size of two table spoons. (it was good though) $4.50!!! thats not an up-charge thats full price on the menu. I minus the fries and they still charge me full price.Table next to us ordered the steamed little necks and they sent them back because they "didn't taste or smell well" and no manger ever came to the table to check why. I am going to blame that on the waitress probably never told anyone.overall, everyone can have a bad night so I would probably try again but it wouldn't be for a long time. And I would not order an up-charge!Hi Fred,We are always looking to improve and thank you sincerely for your feedback. You are absolutely correct that our service was a little overwhelmed that evening - it was one of our first busy nights of the summer season and we had several newer servers working. It takes a little time for them to adjust and they will surely improve even within a weekâs time. Please come back and try us again - we have a stellar reputation with the local community for consistently excellent food and great service. The food the table sent back next to you was the only food I had to comp the entire night - it is actually an extreme rarity at our restaurant! Our ingredients are always fresh and locally sourced, and we pride ourselves on this. We also understand that we cannot please everyone, and when that happens we will do what we can to make things right and have the customer leave happy! We are in Middletown at least twice a year to help work on a colleagueâs boat. We have never missed having dinner at least once while weâre there. I love their deep fried scallops, my husband loves their salads, but everyone will fine something on the menu that pleases. And, donât forget their fantastic beer! I usually go for their IPA, others at the table try the seasonal brews. While waiting for plates to arrive, thereâs always a little time for a game of pool. Love this place!

The all new JR Bean Saloon!!! Come join us for Lunch, Dinner, Drinks and Live Entertainment. Must try the Redneck Sangria or the Smoked Tomato Bloody Mary!
Looking for a quick bite after a long day. Figured this spot would be easy and casual compared to the nicer spots in town. Had more of PUB/ bar atmosphere, super loud so minimal conversation with my group. Only bottom floor was open but server took forever. Came for a burger but really not many options. None of us were impressed. My BBQ flatbread tasted like a wet towel. No thanks...
The Green Valley Country Club is an 18 hole championship course, located in picturesque Portsmouth, RI. Known as Newport's finest semi-private country club, it is open to the public.Green Valley is not only known for its beautiful and challenging course,
Green Valley CC is a certainly a well maintained public golf course. It is pretty open and really not too difficult. The rates are mid to upper range, not inexpensive but not real pricey. The other players and staff were rather indifferent [and mostly unfriendly] to us non-members. [PS: We are Seniors, were dressed properly in good golf attire, and were very respectful of the game and the course.] The biggest fault of the course layout was the total lack of "signage" to indicate what hole we were playing, how far it was to the pin [had to refer to the scorecard] from the tee box, fairway yardage, and EVEN directions to the next hole. Absolutely nothing was marked and this is very annoying for those of us not familiar with the course. I do not believe we will return if we are again in the area.

Our family was in Newport for a wedding. We heard about this awesome beach bar and decided to check it out. The entire staff was amazing! They were all super friendly and accommodating to our large group. The food was great and the outside area w/corn hole and ring toss made it that much better. I would totally recommend going to this "family-friendly" bar if you are ever in the Portsmouth/Newport area!!! Our only regret was not being able to stay for the band.

We enjoyed an assortment of draft and bottled libations. I'd skip the appetizers though, they were disappointing.

We stopped at Graziano's 501 while traveling through Rhode Island and found good food and friendly service. We started with Clam Chowder which was the best I've ever had. We then had fish and chips and scallops. Both were very good and the staff were very friendly. Seemed to be a locals place which was just what we were looking for.

I've driven past the Valley Inn hundreds of times and just assumed it was, well, an "Inn". While looking at Portsmouth restaurants on Trip Advisor, I saw my mistake. It has been a restaurant operated by the same family for decades. We went for an early dinner on a Saturday night. Now don't be put off because the building needs a little TLC, it does have a lot of character! The dining room is cozy in a kind of colonial rustic theme with old beams, a large fireplace and the a decent sized bar. The owner came to the table to welcome us soon after we were seated and came over again as we were finishing to see how we liked it. They have live music on weekends too.We started with a Margherita pizza as an appetizer, with the three of us eating all but two slices. It was delicious but we soon regretted having eaten so much. The menu prices may seem a bit steep but then you realize that everything is included. You get a stuffie, salad and soup with your entree so pace yourself! The French Onion Soup by the way is excellent. I had the Baked Haddock special, my wife had the Steak au Poivre (a really big cut) and our son had the Pan Seared Scallops. So glad we stopped by, delicious!

Stopped here for a late lunch on a reccomendation. Greeted by friendly & attentive staff was just the beginning. The food was amazing - the BEST Little Necks & Pasta I have ever had. Not soupy but full of clams & garlic. Stuffed shrimp special was equally as delicious. We Will Be Back

We were leaving the hustle and bustle of Newport and stopped here for dinner on a whim. WOW, the food was sooooo good.... the service was great and we were very happy. On our way out the wait was very long apparently it's a big local spot. Definitely come by for a great meal. For an appetizer 3 main courses and 3 desserts plus soft drinks was sound $130. I would say relatively typical for the area. YUM!!!
