This is my version of "hospitality in the sunshine " offering freshly prepared food using local ingredients, in a friendly atmosphere.
I like to think I'm adventurous. At least as far as food goes. I eat local a lot, try specialities, house dishes and Menu del Dia where I can. But after several weeks in Oliva I just crave a little taste of home. For a cracking Sunday roast that Brits would enjoy, you can't beat ValeVale. Veggie option available too.I'm glad you enjoyed your "valevale" experience. Please tell your friends about us.I hope to see you again soon

Having eaten dinner here before, we decided to drop in one morning to sample breakfast. We decided to go for the English breakfast as we were hungry. I must say the standard of the breakfast was not up to the high quality of the dinner we had there as it was a bit greasy and soggy. It was certainly edible but a bit disappointing really as it was not what we were expecting. I think we'll stick to the dinner in future.I am so sorry to hear that. As we grill and oven cook our products it disappoints us to hear that you found breakfast below par. I am happy though that you have enjoyed our evening meals. In future please let the member of staff know so they can rectify any problems. Thank you for choosing Honey Dukes.

Where better than a large group of friends to share Christmas day lunch than California, well in Oliva I can tell you no where. The beautifully dressed table with fresh flowers and festive decorations was lit with pretty candles. The endless food, house meatballs, cod croquettes and the famous chicken livers with the herb salsa followed by an amazing smoky white bean and pork soup. The fillet steak, melt in your mouth delicious or the huge oven roasted lamb leg steak or the delicate but equally huge fillet of the freshest salmon.A traditional pud and local cheese with biscuits and grapes all washed down with great red and white Rioja. Perfect.Thank you so much Gabby and Julian and your wonderful chef for a perfect day.Happy new year to you all and we eagerly await our next visit to your fabulous restaurant.

My recent visit to Oliva included time spent at Bar Amigos. It also coincided with the owners Chris Thake and Lloyd Arkell, being featured on UK's Channel 4 programme 'A New Life in the Sun' series 3, episodes 29 and 30, broadcast on 22 and 23 March 2018. Both episodes gave a wonderful insight into the story how the two Essex gentleman, who had great jobs working for FedEx at Stansted Airport, followed their dream and opened a bar in Spain. The bar is in an ideal location opposite San Roc Church and during my stay there were two major events, one of Friday, 23 March 2018, being the start of Semana Santa, and Palm Sunday on 25 March 2018. During both events the locals could be found mingling with foreign residents and enjoying the coffee, alcoholic beverages and snacks on offer.I would thoroughly recommend not just one visit but many visits to Bar Amigos when you are in Oliva or the surrounding area.
Lovely spot to have a beer and a glass of wine - good prices and everywhere was clean and pretty well kept. Service with a smile!
