Find out what Pub restaurants to try in Obidos. When 13th-century Portuguese Queen Isabel passed through Obidos and marveled at its beauty, her husband King Denis I simply gave it to her. For centuries after, the kings of Portugal followed suit, presenting the picturesque little town to their queens as a wedding gift. With its white buildings shining as brightly now as then, the walled city of Obidos is very popular with tourists, its hillside location offering amazing views of the Estremadura area. The medieval castle is a main attraction.

Cold, windy December morning with the dog, we walked along the dirt road to its end and stopped for coffee and cake on the way back. Dogs, of course, can't go into the restaurant but there's plenty of seating outside, and the view from the decking in front of the restaurant is superb. Coffee was good, cake was tasty. They are such nice people too, when the weather picks up we'll need to go over for a meal. Lots of parking space.

Nuno and his partner always make us feel welcome when we visit here. The squid is absolutely delicious and great value. Itâs possible you could share this dish for 2 people. If you are looking for great tasting local food at reasonable prices, donât miss a visit to this restaurant.
The architecture and atmosphere is really nice, but letâs face it: the chef needs to be changed. Everything was only moderately tasty, with seemingly a lack of talent for cooking. Ingredients were very fresh, hence our disappointment with the end results. Finally, service: staff was very welcoming, but it took one and a half hours to get any food. Everyone ends up looking at each other from across the table in a desperate mode.

With an amazing view over the Atlantic Ocean and the 10th Hole of Praia D'El Rey Golfe Golf Course, this restaurant has a casual and sober decoration. The menu is both classic and modern and combines international cuisine and traditional portuguese food.
We've been to Praia del Rey for ten years now and the golf club restaurant seems to be just above or just below an 'average' experience. We went twice this year (August 2019) and experienced the buffet evening and the bbq evening. We found the bbq to be above average, with freshly cooked prawns and squid the highlight, whilst the buffet evening was definitely below average with a distinct lack of choice (bbq'd burgers, fish rice and chicken curry, with no sign of the promised steaks). In addition to this on both evenings the cheeses and puddings that were offered had no covers on so were crawling with flies - surely this could be easily sorted out! At â¬30 a head for the bbq and about â¬26 for the buffet both evenings were the wrong side of the value for money trade, and instead we felt that we should have gone to the much better Maré restaurant above the 'village' area of the resort. Advice to management: lower the price point, offer more choice and cover up puddings

It was scorching hot the day we were in Ãbidos and we were starving and thirsty and followed the signs to the place. It was quite an experience! The whole restaurant is medieval-themed, which makes sense in that village, but not too much. Above all: very, very friendly and swift service with a smile. The tapas plate for two was enough and delicious, and we had a local drink, a berry cordial, which was not only outstanding, but very refreshing. The price-quality ratio is perfect, and the location is quite cool. Literally and coolness-factor wise ;) highly recommended!

We found this tiny pub by chance and were won over by the range of drinks and quirky food they served. The whole place is covered in little antique bottles, brass, tankards, and paraphernalia. We all had port or ginja (sour cherry liqueur), and also ordered the sharing platter of flaming sausage and cheese, which came with a big basket of bread. We found it welcoming and cosy inside, and the staff speak good English if you need a bit of help with your Portuguese. I'd recommend it, give it a try.
