What a find! A bit off the beaten path, but worth every extra mile. My husband is Slavic, so were excited to find a place that served authentic cabbage rolls. Crissy, the young lady who runs Emil's, is a delight. Very friendly....came over to our table to just talk, so she and my husband got into a real neat conversation about "the old country." His cabbage rolls were excellent, and my rueben sandwich was definitely the best I have ever eaten - loads of corned beef, nice and lean; tasty grilled bread...just amazing! Wish we lived closed so we could return. Very reasonably priced.

A friend took us here recently on our way to Pittsburgh. It is an easy off/on from the parkway. Nothing fancy but great service and good casual food. We sampled some of their dogs, wings and pizza. Plus some tasty bloody mary's. Everyone liked what they had, Definite spot to keep in mind if you have time before/after a game. Also ... make sure to check out the beer cave.

This bar is awesome! In the heart of downtown Pittsburgh, it is a nice break from the world outside. The kitschy decor and upbeat attitude of the staff made our experience a great one! I had a tropical mixed drink and my husband a beer and both were really good. The mixed drink was not watered down at all so itâs a good thing we ate food or I would have needed some assistance to leave. LOL This is a bar we would most definitely revisit if we find ourselves in Pittsburgh again.

Local tavern with friendly vibe. The patrons will usually be wearing Steelers, Pirates, or Pens gear. There is a bar, dining area, and outdoor seating. Good draft selection. Servers and bartenders are always great. Drinks are relatively inexpensive. There is plenty of free parking.Food can be hit or miss, but it is the best option for late night grub in Monroeville. I recently had the famous fish sandwich. The fish was overcooked. With the slice of American cheese, it reminded me of filet o fish. The fries were good. For late night food options in Monroeville, this place is my go-to.

My brother and I stopped at Papa Rocks for pizza. I had never been there, but my brother said their food is very good. He was right on the money! The service was prompt and courteous. We ordered a large pizza with pepperoni and sausage. It was delicious and the crust was crispy. It was an enjoyable meal. The restaurant has many more menu item, typical of an Italian/pizza parlor. They also have a full bar with entertainment during the week. Just check out their website. When I'm in that area again, I will head to Papa Rocks!
This pizzeria is a pretty clean place, with great service and fresh good food. Food was brought to table, and server was as helpful as could be! Everything looked clean. The restroom was a little less clean, but ok...I wasn't afraid to use it!There were drivers coming and going the whole time we were there...just after noon. Must be popular for lunch delivery. We tried the seafood wrap (advertised as shrimp and crabmeat)...the shrimp was real and generous, but the "crabmeat" was immitation (but good). A good sandwich. Fresh hot onion rings were real crunchy ...a real treat. The half/small Greek salad was tasty and very generous with lots of croutons, olive and feta cheese. The dressing was Kens, offered in portion packages. The "half" tuna hoagie was mammouth and nicely dressed with lots of fresh crisp lettuce, tomato, and onion. Unfortunately it was unadulterated canned tuna , not a tuna salad you might expect. We would go again. Next time we'll try the pizza and let you know.

If you are looking for good causal bar food that will make everyone happy and not break the bank, here you go. Our server, Camille, was quick and friendly. My kids about died when they both realized that the âYinzerâ dogs and burgers came with Mac & cheese loaded on top. I had the chili and some really crisp zucchini strips. Prices are very reasonable. The decor could use a little help, but itâs a family bar. Iâll come back.

While the menu is ambitious, the Gateway Grill delivers good food at competative prices. Popular items include pizza and sandwiches, although the menu incldes full dinners,. most of which are wood-grilled. The lower room can be very loud, so this is not a place for an intimate dinner. It's more of a family and sports-bar atmosphere. The Grill is usually very busy, with lots of happy patrons.

Long-running Pittsburgh-born chain known for sandwiches piled high with coleslaw & french fries.
The sandwiches were huge and yummy. Hardly any wait for a table. Relaxed atmosphere. Might need to park a bit away and walk.
