Gershwin's is an upscale, slightly sophisticated bistro featuring American standards (Sinatra) and piano music.
Ate at Gershwin's both nights of my stay in Norfolk. The first night, with my cousin, just appetizers since it was late and the next an entrée. It wasn't that the food was so extraordinary or anything, but that the overall package is enjoyable. The place is very comfortable, the food above average, but what makes it real nice is the vocalist/pianist that really completes the picture and makes the place a destination. The Margarita, $10 was like a margarita- pina colada. The Mussels, $12, a house specialty and excellent. The Hummus, $10, came with celery, carrots, and pita. The Rustic Beet Salad, $12, had the best candied pecans found anywhere. We also had a suare of the Tiramisu, $7, which was excellent as well. The following night I had the Ribeye Dinner, $45. The steak was thinner than anticipated, and could have been more tender considering the price, but it did have a great cream sauce with mushrooms. I was also able to substitute the garlic mashed potatoes with a petite beet salad ( my favorite) at no extra charge. Iced tea was $2.99. Service was excellent. Our server was Alfonso, very personable and efficient, taking pride in accommodating us/me. If you're looking for a relaxing dinner, where you can kick back and relax and enjoy the entertainment, this is definitely the place. And yes, they have outdoor seating as well.

We came here one night after work for drinks and dinner.I tried several different craft beers which were very good and just had a burger and fries for dinner. It seem like it was a local hangout and was very busy the whole time i was there.

We had been here before and decided to try it again. Our food had obviously been sitting in the kitchen for awhile. It was cold and congealed. My chicken was so dry. One steak looked 8 ounces. Another that was supposed to be 8 ounces looked like just 5 ounces. Super disappointed

The good...friendly staff. Clean interior. The burgers were good, and they had many different kinds to choose from. Also had good sweet tea. The bad....when I pay $7 for potato skins I expect to get more than ONE SMALL potato cut into four wedges. Also when paying $50 for a meal I donât expect to get nickel and dimed to death over a ranch dressing they charge .50 cents for each small cup.

Having lived in Germany for a few years, I was looking forward to some bratwurst and sauerkraut - a staple of meals in Germany. Loved the bratwurst guy selling from a cart on the street corner - with a ready supply of mustard. I couldn't find bratwurst on the menu, so I asked waitress why they had no bratwurst ! She said, âoh, we do. It's the bockwurst - bratwurst is the same as bockwurst.â Well. It isn't. That started my lunch off on a bad foot. So, I decided to forego wurst, and have a Reuben sandwich. Bad decision. This was one of the worst Reuben sandwiches I ever had. The corned beef was a single sheet of tough shoe leather - could hardly bite through it.The selection of beer was, however, good (I was hoping to find Becks, which I drank all the time while in Germany. No luck here.) The service was good - pleasant and attentive. Not a good meal - won't be back.

The food is was good for the price however a member in my party had to send their entree back twice as the steak was not cooked properly. The manager and owner was rude disrespectful. He speaks very derogatory to customers who are patronizing his establishment. He seemed to have an issue with disable people moving slower than normal and people having real life issues. He does not want any groups of any kind in establishment weather its is for an celebration or just a friendly fellowship. He screams and yells just rude for no reason. He was lied too by a staff member who did not at all make my party feel welcome, the young lady that was more than extremely helpful i hope i am getting her name right was Sarah. i even went to speak to the manager on my way out to thank him for a great experience he was not available however was contacted with such rude demeanor and disrespect. i would never recommend this place as he made a story in which he is attempting to stick with regarding the departure of our party however, someones timing is off as my Receipt in which i still have shows that if my ticket was printed and paid at 415pm. in which mean that there is no way if the party arrived at 345pm as he stated that we all would have been served and checks cleared in 30 mins. especially with one order having to be redone twice. but IF YOU LIKE TO BE DISRESPECTED AND MISTREATED BY ALL MEANS ENJOY, FOOD IS GOOD NEVER TAKING THAT AWAY BUT SERVICE AND TREATMENT MEANS A WHOLE MORE.

At Grain, we're elevating the beer garden concept, all the way to the roof of the Hilton Norfolk The Main to be exact. With one of the best selections of craft beer in Norfolk, this rooftop lounge brings the indoors out and the outdoors in with an open ai
Came in toward end of happy hour. Ordered fried pickles. Good pickle flavor but pickles are sliced length wise very thin so one bite and pickle comes out leaving behind breading. Ordered burger with bacon, onion. Menu was accurate for ingredients. No dress and had to ask for mayonnaise and mustard. Was cooked perfect with medium pink. Slaw instead of fries. Slaw had more vinegar than I'm used to. Interacted with server only who was pleasant and provided great service. Atmosphere is nice but loud.Thank you for your visit and review. Grace O'Malley's is locally-owned and offers an authentic Irish pub experience. Virtually everything in the bar and restaurant was handcrafted in Ireland. The staff is eager to provide you with a memorable experience, including traditional food and drink,
Guinness on tap along with an extensive selection of tap and bottled beers, ales, and stouts. Excellent appetizers and soups. We enjoyed the wings with several of their sauces and the Scotch broth soup. A menu with something on it sure to please every palate - even the wee ones. Oh, and did I mention, Guinness on tap served as Guinness is supposed to be served! All in an authentic Irish pub atmosphere. Give it a try. I am sure you will enjoy it!!!!!Thank you so much for taking the time to post your kind comments and we do hope you will be able to come back soon for the Great Food, Great Music, and Great Craic at our neighborhood Irish pub. A great restaurant in Old Towne recommended by Dawn at Mermaid's Porch B&B. Spouse and I enjoyed a number of different dishes including the sausage trilogy, mac & cheese, cajun pasta, and duck tacos. Everything was delicious and tasty in it's own right. Thought we would eat "light" but it was all so good... Finished off with two desserts- bread pudding and pecan pie. Just could not pass them up. We will be back again soon!
