Pub Restaurant. "Flaming Grill" pub. Excellent service and good hot food. Children's outside play area.
Pretty decent pub grub. Not a la carte dining, but there is something for everyone. A number of food challenges, salads, burgers, pub classics, Sunday roast, great children's menu & a good drinks menu. Staff were friendly. Food was well priced & there is a small park for the kids. We'll be back

Visited this hidden gem for an impromptu Sunday lunch, to celebrate my best friend's birthday. 4 of us had a Sunday lunch - 1 turkey, 3 slow roasted pork belly, the meat was tender and accompanied with a huge Yorkshire pudding, vegetables and extra gravy (not something you are always offered). 1 of our party opted for fish and chips which was a generous portion and the fish delicate. 1 of our party chose the succulent American burger, which was filled with goodies - cheese, pickles, salad and bacon. All food was excellent and unfortunately we were too full to do the pudding menu any justice. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. If this was on our doorstep (we live in Bristol) there is no doubt we would be regulars. Mmm mmmm.Good Morning Emma,Thank you for taking the time to leave us such a positive review, I will ensure that I will pass on your comments to the staff. We are really glad you have a great time with us and its a shame that you don't live closer however if you ever need anything you know where we are.Hopefully see you all again sometime soon,Kind Regards,The Darran

The Potters is one of the few original pubs left in Newport, situated in the heart of Newport City Centre, adjoining Friars Walk. We are a Freehouse and have owned and operated the Potters for the past 14 years. The pub has recently undergone an extensive
Our office are regulars at the Potters on a Friday. Yesterday we'd booked the roof terrace for a party & pre ordered food. We turned up on time and were surprised that there was nothing out to say tables were reserved. We were also told on arrival that due to the forecasted bad weather, we were not able to eat upstairs and the upstairs bar would not be open due to lack of staff. On investigation, it appeared there had been an administrative error in our booking which had left staff unaware of our situation. Nadine went above and beyond to make sure everything went as we'd booked it - apologising, taking the time to serve our food to us upstairs and checking on us as often as she could, even though the pub was busy. We really appreciated the lengths she went to and she turned around a situation which could've led to us changing pubs in future. I hope the owners and managers know how lucky they are to have her as a staff member. Thanks Nadine, you saved the day! :)Thanks very much for the great review, Nadine is a star! Look forward to seeing you again soon.

Formally Urban Tap House Newport, Tiny Rebel Newport started life as Urban Pop Up in Newport's market, which opened (briefly) in May 2015. After an overwhelming month-long opening we simply had to strip it all back down and start again, this time for real

As you know we are very lucky to have the award winning chef - Steve White, as our new Head Chef and leading his staff in the kitchen at The Red Lion, Steve has come up with an outstanding menu focusing on locally sourced produce, combining flavours and t
The staff were fantastic! Friendly, attentive, alert but subtle. It became obvious that something (we donât know what) was causing the kitchen to fall behind. Step up our waiter who gently apologised and offered bread and olives! The perfect approach.However...we only ordered mains and waited an hour and 20 minutes for it to arrive!! If weâd not been with great company weâd have walked. When it came the food was underwhelming. I had ham (hock) egg and chips. The ham was enormous, fatty and a bit unpleasant. I donât get the idea. Other meals didnât inspire. If not for the excellent waiter we would have been complaining. As it was we were just left disappointed.

I was staying in the hotel next door and visited here for my evening meal. It was curry night so decided to go for the Jalfrezi with large upgrade which gave me onion bhajis and chips along with naan breads which including a pint was £8.50. Unbelievable value, not the best meal I have had but an enjoyable meal and for the price, super value.Hi Ianplancashire, great to hear you enjoyed your visit to our pub. Hope to see you again soon! We hope to see you soon!

Donât get why drinks are so expensive. £4.75 for a lager is too much. Average in other pubs £3.60 to £4. Fillet steak nice but came sliced for some reason which was underwhelming. Lamb dish good and chips thick and well cooked.
