From the minute we arrived upstairs, the hostesses were lovely. We were seated right away (we did have a reservation for a Thurs Night) and chose to sit inside. We were initially seated at a high top table near the bar but noticed one of the cozy booths opened up and the hostess was gracious enough to move us when we asked. Our waitress Tanya was AMAZING!!! She was personable, efficient, knowledgable of the menu and ingredients and gave great recommendations. Started with the Sartori Caesar Salad w/ the griddled sourdough bread and the Burrata and Peas appetizer. Loved the griddled sourdough w/ the salad and the burrata was melt in your mouth good!Next was the Spaghetti pie and despite people saying it lacked flavor; we thought it was bursting with flavor. My husband who usually isn't a fan of truffle thought it wasn't overpowering in flavor and melded nice with the white cheddar. For an entree we shared the Wagyu Skirt Steak and it was a symphony of flavors. Loved the charred strawberries and feta! The caramel sauce was divine and the steak was tender and flavorful.Lastly because it was our Anniversary we had to finish with dessert and tried the Stella Sundae. Rich dark chocolate brownies with yummy pecan and brown butter ice cream topped with salted caramel bourbon popcorn. It was delicious. We are so happy we tried a new place and will definitely go back on another special occasion since we live about an hour away. It was a memorable dinner experience.Happy Anniversary, thanks so much for Stellabrating with us! Fran's Pub

Reviewed By Capt_Graves

Fran’s pub on the main drag of New Hope is mainly noted for its big open seating area that is very popular in warmer weather. Built onto the front of a smaller building it has an enclosed seating area for cooler weather or for when you just don’t want to sit under the sun and a more traditional darker bar area in the back if that is more to your style. Fran’s major draw, in a town filled with fine dining, is that it is a place you can just grab a burger or a sandwich or a pizza. There’s nothing wrong with the dining scene in New Hope but there are times you just want something simple. The prices are fair and the portions are generous. My wife and I were there for lunch midweek. I had an appetizer of bacon wrapped shrimp and expected a few small shrimp, instead I got some large good size fish well wrapped with a tangy dipping sauce. I loved it. For our ‘main course I had the steak sandwich and my wife had a calzone. And here taste comes into it. The steak sandwich had hot peppers in it and they were too hot for me, as in inedible. Still I was not prepared to abandon lunch and after using a knife to pluck out some of them I was left with a very nice, and edible, sandwich. The meat was well cooked and as I said the portions were generous, just use caution in ordering.I’m not sure Fran’s is the place I‘d think of for a romantic Tet-a-Tet but when you’ve been enjoying new Hope and want food that is good, fair priced and relaxed. no problem.Hi Capt Graves, Thanks so much for taking the time to leave us a good review. We really appreciate your business and look forward to seeing you again in the near future.

A friend recommend Bell's Tavern and I love to try out places I haven't been before. Bell's Tavern is located more in the neighborhood area of Lambertville. We went on a Friday night before heading to a local theatre. We expected a bar with food but were pleasantly surprised! There is a bar when you first walk in but most people sitting at the bar were regulars coming to checkout the specials for the night. The menu is good but the specials are even better. They have limited hours so check their website before you go. Great find in Lambertville!

Square One Pub

We had dinner at the Square 1 pub a few days ago. It's a good place to go that's favored by locals. Although there's a big, shopping center sized parking lot outside, lots of spaces were Rajendra. It's popular. We started off with drinks. My wife's martini was large. I ordered a scotch on the rocks. Lots and lots of ice, which in December might not have been the best choice. They have a basket of popcorn on every table. It gets replenished.A couple we knew were giving salads. This is something I hadn't tried, which is something they do very well. You start off with the basic salad, which might be an iceberg wedge or spinach salad. You can add chicken, salmon, shrimp, etc. for an extra charge. It might not sound like anything special.Actually, it is. The iceberg wedge might cost $7.00. Adding chicken is $9.00. It's a huge chicken breast, sliced on your plate! Suddenly the salad becomes a large entree! That's what my wife had. Excellent.I had a special, the hanger steak, which ran about $26. That was a proper entree. There was lots of steak. That was enough for dinner. We headed home. Are there negatives? It's a pub. It's not fine dining. They have a quieter sit down area on the other side of the entrance, but it's not a linen tablecloths type of place. This is a high energy pub type atmosphere, not a quiet, romantic location.Overall, it's pretty good and good value for money. We keep coming back.

The Salt House

Went here for a late lunch on a beautiful weekday afternoon. We sat in the bar area at a large table, even though we were only two. This gave us plenty of room for our dishes! I ordered the duck meatballs in molasses sauce; three delicious meatballs in an incredibly flavorful sauce. My friend ordered the deviled eggs, and Sriracha charred Brussel sprouts. She loved the eggs, and even though I hate brussel sprouts, she insisted I try them - and they were wonderful! We also split the Charcuterie platter, which included meat, cheeses, figs, and almond stuffed olives. The flavors were incredible, and there was enough that we had leftovers for later! The building itself is an old salt house (hence the name) and the decor and ambience is warm and inviting.

Plenty of tables and bar seats inside as well as an outdoor patio that overlooks the New Hope & Ivyland Railroad. There are also several pool tables. Good variety of beer with flights available. Very good nut brown ale. The food menu is somewhat limited, but the prices are reasonable. This location’s menu is different from the Princeton and Red Bank locations. Good friendly service the bar. The corn chowder was served very quickly and was delicious – should have ordered a bowl instead of a cup. Was told that many of the ingredients/meats used on their menu come from local farms. Very good pulled pork sandwich which came with Cole slaw on top of the pulled pork and also includes a small side salad. Would definitely return for the beer.
