Family Run Restaurant For Over 40 Years.
It's a pub, that does food, and the food is good value, and actually pretty nice. We are regular holiday makers to the area, coming every year at the end of August, to camp with friends in a nearby campsite. Don't expect to be amazed, but maybe pleasantly surprised. The pub is unpretentious, without trendy decor, and yet always very busy at this time of year. The staff are amazing though. Always friendly and very efficient and calm, considering how busy it gets at meal times. We visited because it was a wet and cool day and we fancied a bit of interior warmth, but as you can imagine, in an area full of campsites, many others will have the same idea. They do not take advanced bookings, but operate on a first come first served queuing system, though of course, if you have to wait, you can enjoy drinks in the bar. First evening food service begins at five. We were there early, so we got a table quite quickly. If you have children, whatever age, you will be placed in the big back room, which means that you have to share space with all the screaming toddlers. If you don't have kids, this will be a blessing. We have kids and did have to listen to a screaming toddler or two but we did enjoy our food, and the relief of getting a decent meal at very little expense on the worst weather day of our holiday counterbalanced this. I've been torn over whether to give 3/4 stars. I've gone for 4 because overall, our experience was very positive compared with the rather average expectations we had.

Fresh homemade food, wide choice of gluten free options available, friendly family run pub.
On arriving the pub was busy locals very friendly but used a lot of swear words when talking despite several young children present.Landlord led on a dog bed placed by the bar petted his dogs got up and served behind the bar...........no washing of hands. Why we continued to eat god only knows.Food steak small for the cost and the chips half raw some cooked ok..very doubtful that they were home made .Menu very limited burgers I think three different types, moussaka, chilli, and steak. When I go out I want something that I have not eaten as a midweek dinner. We hoped it would of changed under new management sadly not.Hi Sharran, thank you for your review. We appreciate all feedback, review and act accordingly. We are a country pub and you are correct the locals are very friendly, but as people do when they are in a public house they can use colorful language sometimes. Which we do try and manage as much as is possible during the daytime especially when there are children present. But again I reiliterate this is a public house not a playground or cafe. We do also have a separate restaurant area away from the main bar which you could have been seated in if requested. With regards to the dogs the landlord is very conscientious about hygiene and is normally very festiduois about washing his hands following petting the dogs, not sure what happened this time. As advertised on our menu, all our fresh ingredients are from local suppliers and the steaks are cut individually by hand by our local butcher and can range from 7 to 8 Oz which is average weight. Nor sure how many local establishments you have eaten in in the local area but we are by far the cheapest and when you consider all the extras you get with the meal it is more than reasonably priced. Our KP is very upset that you think the chips are not homemade as he spends most mornings peeling and chipping spuds ready for the evening service not an easy feat! We have a policy here at the Twnti where we table check each meal this is so we have the opportunity to put right something which a customer may not be happy with - if we don't know about it we can't fix it!! We have a small menu, that is because we provide home cooked meals using local quality products, we are not a from frozen to fryer or microwave pub. We are proud to be a small traditional Inn serving home cooked food! And on a final note I would suggest that if you want to eat something which you think is not a midweek dinner, then you perhaps you would be better booking a high class restaurant - I hear Plas Bodegroes is very nice.

fabulous food with fabulous service. Opted for the fillet steak and it was immense, cooked perfectly and chips hand cut and also delicious. Tables and chairs out back a little uncomfortable to really enjoy a relaxing evening but thatâs a minor. Exceptional food in a beautiful pub looking over the bay. Blue cheese sauce was also delicious. Great meal.

Country Inn serving food throughout the day, extensive menu, mostly homemade, with a good vegetarian choice and children's menu, cosy locals' bar with draught and keg beers and a large selection of wines. Dogs welcome in the bar areas. Large grounds with
Stopped off for dinner on way home from Abersoch beach on a very hot day in July. Plenty of tables both outside and inside (we chose to sit in as had caught the sun a bit too much already!)Service was very friendly and quick. We paid around £65 for 5 meals and 5 drinks, which was a steal, as the food was really lovely. Chicken madras with pilau rice and naan bread was really tasty and flavoursome. Lamb burger and pepperoni pizza were freshly made and lovely. Fish and chips really tasty, lovely crispy batter, the chips were absolutely amazing and among some of the nicest I've ever tasted. Only slight complaint was my son's steak was overdone, he asked for medium and it was very well done. Other that this, I'd have given 5 stars.

small freehouse Gastropub -The Ship Edern are pleased to welcome children of all ages to dine at lunchtime but we do ask that children should be at least 10 years old in the evenings
The food here is first class - they must have a talented chief. Pleasant bar that will allow well behaved dogs as well - would recommended The ship - but get there early parking is restricted.
