I finally explored Monmouth main and the Western Oregon campus. The latter is an exquisite, old school ivy and brick, university with charm and erudition. Along the former, I discovered Crush Wine Bar. The venue is Victorian store front outside, with an airy, polished wood charm inside and a venerable, old and charming bar ruling the dining room. The wine list is varied, with several selections and the menu is light and tasty. I finished off a turkey caesar wrap with relish (and a second glass of chardonnay) and there were also sandwiches and pizza to choose from. The owner was engaging and a good source of information about the university and Monmouth main. So, take a turn off 99W and drink a bit of golden life at Crush Wine bar!

Stopped by today on my way through town for a late lunch. Was glad to hear they serve breakfast until 3pm! They have lunch and breakfast menus with lots of choices. I had the corned beef hash. It was a huge bowl of fried potatoes, onions, peppers and corned beef. Potatoes are great and you can get them with other breakfast entrees too. Wish the corned beef was in smaller pieces instead of long strings, but it is very moist and tender. Wish they would sauté the onions and peppers with the beef too for better flavor. I think the onions and peppers are lightly steamed. Iâll definitely return to try more of the menu. Service was great and it was fairly busy. ADA parking is awkward unless you have a wheelchair. There are 2 âwheelchair user onlyâ spaces by the ramp. And one space next to the street, but closest to the stairs...grrr. It is very painful for me to walk and stairs are difficult for me, so the best spaces for me are not the marked ones. Plus the parking lot is rather awkward - especially if you canât figure out the ADA parking arrangements.
Stopped in Monmouth at lunch time and walked down the street. Began talking to the proprietor who had just stepped outside and decided to give it a try. Great choice. Food was excellent and service great.

Washington Street Steakhouse & Pub established in 1999 a home town relaxed environment offering a separate nonsmoking family dinning room and a separate full service pub featuring all Oregon lottery games. Washington Street offers lots of great food and f
This place serves up real, old fashioned, stick to your ribs tasty food! The flavors are blended well on everything I've eaten here! The clam chowder is the best!! The service is friendly, efficient, but very busy. The seating is pretty limited, the dining area is loud, but it is clean! The backs of the bench seats are tall enough so you don't have unruly children hanging over the back of their seat slathering mashed potatoes in your hair! The pies are made in house, I think, because they don't have that bakery taste, they are soooo good, be sure to save room!!
