I went here with my friends and had such a great time tasting the lamb shabu-shabu. We had a special course prepared for foreign students, and it was truly amazing. I loved the cotton candy that came with the lamb. Also, this restaurant has a wide variety of condiments ranging from soy sauce to yuzu pepper, so I enjoyed them with the lamb.

We both had set menu Blanc Carte which was only available on weekday for Â¥4,600 plus tax. The food was delicious and presentation matched the high food standard. The appetiser and entree contained 3 separate small things with distinctive and interesting flavours. We commented on the food and how sophisticated it was, the French Maitre Dâ said lunch was a bit basic compared to dinner . We just couldnât imagine how much more sophisticated it could be! The room setting was really posh and views of surrounding Roppongi area were stunning especially on a sunny day. Waitering service was a class above the rest. The Maître Dâ was extremely professional and experienced, when he picked up the empty place and saw the next dish was put down on the table, he quickly put the dirty plate behind his back i.e. out of our sight while he was explaining the next dish. He was very knowledgeable with wines and recommended a nice and suitable wine for my husband. However, the same could not be said for the restaurant receptionist. We arrived in smart casual clothes but wearing boots as we went to the fish market prior to lunch. When we arrived and before I could say anything the restaurant receptionist pointed me to the cafe next door as though we were not the type to dine at Pierre Garnaire. I told her that we had a reservation at Pierre Garnaire and she was very polite after that. We did find the incident rather amusing, surprising & disappointing especially in Japan. The restaurant being inside a hotel therefore staff should have known better that many of restaurant patrons were tourists and not always possible to turn up in their finery.Food was reasonable but wine was very expensive. Came here with my Australian friend.We spend beautiful time with tasting so much kinds of sake and friendly staffs. They brought us English menu for my friend , understood his English and were very helpful in explaining the procedure to us, and helped us to navigate all the choices by providing us with a checklist sheet that detailed the qualities of all the sake. Food was also amaging!! This place is very popular with tourists. We thought that dinner here was ok, but not great. We would have liked more variety. There was no seafood which was curious. Also the prices were high for what you got. Interestingly westerners were seated around the cooking area while Japanese people were seated in other rooms or away from the cooking area. They use real charcoal instead of gas which is authentic but the whole cooking experience creates a great deal of smoke which isn't completely removed by the fans.Thank you for coming to the restaurant. We are Yakitori âmeat skewersâ restaurant and focused on grilled meats and variety of dishes that go well with drinks. All guests can take any seats if they have a request to have particular seats they want at that time or make a reservation for where they want to be seated. We are so sorry for the smoke and not giving the best experience with us. Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts.
