Efficient service. Standard menu, very pleasing to my granddaughter. The restaurant was full both nights we were there and we spent a very pleasant evening. There is unlimited fizzy drinks, this helps on hot days when people are thirsty. My granddaughter enjoyed her smothered chicken so much she chose it both nightsPricing is very reasonable and you can eat from a more restricted menu before 6pm for an even lower price
I love The Britannia pub. One of the bext views in Margate and live music most weekends during the season. For me the Sunday roast is about the best available locally and they start at just £6.50 for a large plateful of delicious food. Worth booking in advance to avoid disappointment. Always a highlight of our visits to Margate.

We travelled from over an hour away to come to the beach & have a nice family lunch. We decided on The Swan based on tripadvisor reviews but we were sorely disappointed. We sat outside at the only table in the sun & were quickly surrounded by people who were there to smoke. I cannot believe how inconsiderate people are to sit next to a family with young children & light up when EVERY other table was empty. Not the pubâs fault, but a designed smoking area would be an idea as it ruins other peopleâs meals. It seemed that we had sat in the âlocals only areaâ as they all seemed to know each other & basically we felt pushed out. Very unpleasant. We moved to another table & ordered some food. We were there at the start of service yet we waited an hour for food! The childrenâs burger and the adult burger were both dry & horrible. We requested the adult burger to have only cheese on it but it came with everything (pretty simple request!). Honestly wish we had just brought a picnic or done some better research before coming. Not our kind of place AT ALL. Good afternoon, First of all, please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused to you and your guests during your visit to The Swan. I can see you planned your visit to us based upon our TripAdvisor reviews and therefore know the majority of reviews we receive are very positive. Our number one concern is our customers, and that all receive the very best customer service, quality food and drink. We're so sorry this wasn't made clear to you on this day. I would like to inform you that your comments have been raised with our kitchen team and we take all feedback seriously. As for your experience with outdoor smoking, the majority of guests (we had hoped) politely smoke away from people eating, however since receiving your review we have been looking into the issue and plan to introduce a clearly labelled smoking area. It would be a shame if you do not join us again, but we certainly hope you do.Brooke Perriam The Swan

We went to the Lighthouse Bar in Margate with our daughter and granddaughter on a Saturday. The atmosphere was great thanks to the brilliant staff and fantastic sound system. We had our dinner there, beef burger, chicken burger and the halloumi and beetroot burger, served with chips and coleslaw. It was plenty on the plate, in fact only one of our group finished their meal. We thoroughly recommend this venue.

Went for a family meal. We were greeted by a lovely lady behind the bar. She greeted us and made us feel welcome. She was duty manager. We found a table and ordered our food. The table staff came over and literally threw the bucket of cutlery onto the table then muttered cutlery as she stomped off. The food was brought over. My husbands plate was dirty on the edge so we asked her for a clean one. She took the plate away came back after 5 minutes. Again muttered here sir. My husband didn't hear. No apology. We weren't checked on and regardless as to her coming in and out she didn't acknowledge us. When the duty manager came to presumably check the areas she checked to see if we were ok and had finished and we were chatting. The table staff came over and completely cut me off interrupting the conversation. I can only conclude this employee is new to the job and requires training especially in customer service. I would honestly avoid visiting again which is a shame because the food was good and the staff that we came into contact with were wonderful except for her. She may have been having a tough day or been in a mood but having been in a management position I know you have to paste on the smiles. Real shameThank you for your review. We value your feedback. I would like to discuss this in greater depth with you please. Could you please send me your contact details via e-mail, my email address is [email protected]

Stumbled on this little gem of a place on a cold wet evening whilst on holiday. The welcome and service we received were outstanding. The waiter(?) was so friendly and chatty, we felt like regulars. Not the most salubrious decor but warm and clean. Ordered Scampi and chips which came quickly - freshly cooked, attractively presented, hot and delicious. A good, hearty, good-value meal. I highly recommend this establishment

A "best of British" story, with roots dating back to Mods & Rockers. We serve food as good as you can get, simple bold flavours, classic gastro pub dishes with continental influences. Our menu is seasonal with local produce as we believe local tastes bett
What was once a dreadful place has been transformed into a very pleasant pub and restaurant.Right next to Dreamland it is ideal for a drink and a full meal. The menus consist of usual British fare but accompanied by very good service from attentive and friendly staff. The booking system can be a bit haphazard but for all that the food was good and the experience enjoyable.

Lesters is a traditional styled family pub and restaurant, offering a good range of beers and lagers. well known for it's delicious home made food, and" Daily Specials"from £6.95. The cosy restaurant offers a more classic style of menu at lunchtimes, and
