We went to the Barrel House specifically to try the fish and chips, and they didn't disappoint! Everything was delicious and freshly prepared by the chef, Florian. The burgers also looked amazing. There was a blues/rock gig in the pub that evening and it was jam packed. There was a great ambiance, the staff were friendly and enjoyed talking to the customers.Will definitely return next time I am in Mâcon!

Câest un restaurant pas facile à trouver, mais qui se situe vers le musée des ursulines. Celui-ci possède une terrasse ombragée donc câest parfait pour les fumeurs. Le cadre est sympa et jâai très bien mangé. Je recommande celui-ci sans soucis

Stopped here for drinks and possibly a snack but the waiter was so rude we just had the drink. Like many places in France we were inundated with smoke from cigarettes. Waiter clearly doesnât like his job, although another waiter came out later and he was very pleasantl but wasnât serving us unfortunately.

We really enjoyed our meal here. Served by a friendly waitress who was very helpful despite my bumbling French and apologetic that because they were busy service was a bit slower than she would have liked (didn't bother us!). We sat outside which had the added bonus of getting familiar with the French priority to traffic joining from the right (except where cancelled by other signs) and also the amazingly clean bin lorries on which the bin lorry staff rode at the back, holding on to special bars!I had a delicious salad with lots of lovely things with chips added for just 1 euro 50 extra and my husband had a burger which he really enjoyed. Plus beer, wine and mineral water came to just under 40 euros which seemed very reasonable for the quality of food and experience at this wine bar - including of course free bread and nibbles to go with our drinks at no extra charge.

Perfect for a quick lunch this buzzing roadside café has a very traditional French style about it with friendly, efficient staff and a simple menu with a good range of excellent food. Great for a break between local wine tasting in the area.
