Chose this pub as it was close to a friend we were meeting up with plus they allow dogs. They only had festive menus available, given it was lunchtime a sandwich menu would have been good rather than having to select a main meal. We had Scampi and chips (typical fried frozen food, basically presented and a little expensive at £10.50), Steak and ale pie (nice meaty filling, undercooked pastry) and the other had two starters instead of a main (fried frozen breaded mushrooms plainly presented and a plate of chips. The food overall was nothing to shout about and could do with more imagination and quality overall. The landlord was grumpy, unfriendly and scruffy in a t shirt, shorts and sandals (in Mid December) and doesn't present a good image for the pub. The barmaid on the other hand was the complete opposite and was really friendly and nice.Nothing here to tempt us to bother to return.

We are a public house serving great food and drinks. Serving people from 0 - 100!
I visited today just before lunch time with my mother, grandmother, daughter and young son. We were all very hungry after a busy morning. We walked in and said hello, to be basically ignored by the waitress on shift. We sat down and got ourselves a high chair, and browsed the menus. We made a choice and headed to the bar, we were greeted by the same waitress letting us know âoh I donât know if we are actually serving food today, and if we do itâs not till 12â weâll it was 11.50 so no problem, but why did she not say something when we walked in! Itâs not like weâve come for a pint with the hungry kids?! She said she would find out if they were serving food as they had a funeral in today. Off she went and came back followed by another lady who was sweeping outside, who was just as bothered by us as the first waitress. âDepends what you want, if you want a sandwich me might be able to do themâ Donât bother thank you! Hungry kids, and now disgruntled family. Went down the toad to the Biscot Mill, lovely service and we actually ate!Hi Larajane1014, your feedback is extremely disappointing, and I'd really like to speak to you to discuss it further. Town pub a stones throw from the station. Not the best welcome in the world from the regulars for a group of country bumpkins en route to the Bear Club, but bar staff were pleasant enough. Beer selection average but probably expected in a back street location. Ok, but wouldn't rush back.

Have dined at this pub a good number of times over the years to celebrate both special ocassions and quiet meals for two. Booked a table by phone for early saturday evening for a small birthday celebration. Mindful of the day we asked if there was a wedding or party on and were told no. Left a a contact number in case of any problems.Turned up to be greeted by a sign outside saying closed for private party. When we went inside to get our booked table, a member of staff said they had no record of our booking. Asked to see the manager, who didn't seem very apologetic and blamed this on a blocked computer system. If there was a problem of this nature, no pen and paper available? No offer of any recompense. So we left and had to seek an alternative venue. Very disappointed and will certainly not be returning. Poor customer service.

I came here for a reception for a friend's wedding, and was pleasantly surprised at how good this place is. The staff are great, the DJ was brilliant and in the end was taking requests from us to mix so e old tunes together, and the drinks were very reasonable. The food served was great and very fresh too.

Visited with my son for a meal and to watch the Champions League as they have multiple TV's and a big screen. Wasn't disappointing at all! The pub is very cosy and with warm locals. Staff very friendly and the food was excellent. We both had a burger and was deliciously cooked at the grill with lots of flavour. Really enjoyed it.Atmosphere was nice and friendly, so will definitely be back again when in town.Great experience.

We hosted a family and friends BBQ the day after wedding on May 12th, both Pete & Linda accomodated us all in the read garden with exclusivity. They put on a great BBQ with nice food and drink for us at a very good price. They gave us use of their sound system and luckily with the weather we didn't need their marquee/tent but it was available if the weather was looking bad for our day. We continued late into the night and accomdated us further inside the pub and we had a great time celebrating and continuing our celebrations with our friends and family. Thank you so much guys!

Beefeater opened their doors back in 1974, and were driven by a passion for glorious steak. Mouth-watering cuts at mouth-watering prices was their motto. Reassuringly nothing's changed, these things still drive them today and they always will. Beefeater b
I was staying again at the premier inn next door so I had breakfast here. Great choice of cereals and pastries etc. Full selection of English breakfast items that are regularly refreshed. Various teas and coffees available too.

Living locally weâve been lots of times. In my opinion theyâve overpriced the food and if only go with a voucher( vouchers are regularly available and offer 40% off main meals) we ordered a flatbread mozzarella starter which was small and disappointingly cold. The buttermilk chicken starter was average. For the price we paid our mains were tasty and good value, we had the fillet steak, steak stroganoff, vegan sloppy burger and meat sloppy burger.

Where to eat in Luton, when stuck between travels. Go here. Its worth the taxi ride, and you'll get much better food than elsewhere, on or off the airport. The menu is outright impressive, and the food-experience was "home-made". Even to the degree that cooked vegetables were a bit overcooked. Sharing the pub with the locals add to the atmosphere. It is always lovely to hear when people find our menu impressive and appreciate that our food is home-made. ThankyouPaul
