Situated on the outskirts of Moira village Co. Armagh, The Tannery Bar, Bistro & Chop House is growing its reputation to match that of its already very well established sister restaurants The Plough Inn Hillsborough and The Pheasant Annahilt. Opened in No
I have ate here many times but today will be my last as standards really have slipped.Neither of us could eat our lunch as it was obvious that they didn't have the ingredients for the lunch advertised and tried to fob us off with something else . Our waitress didn't have the sense to ask if there was a problem when she had taken away our plates which hadn't been touched The tannery used to be delicious but sadly not anymore Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review about your visit at lunch time yesterday. After a full investigation with the members of staff and chefs who were working yesterday we can conclude that all our ingredients were on the menu all day yesterday and all dishes were served as described on the menu. The plain chicken burger ordered and subsequently sent back because it wasn't breaded is not described as breaded on the current menu. It has been battered on previous menus and specials so perhaps there was some confusion? The offer by your waiter to prepare a different burger or meal was then declined. Should you wish to discuss the matter further directly with a manager please get in touch via phone or [email protected]

Established since December 1997. We offer a traditional themed bar, restaurant, takeaway and off-licence.
My partner and I went to our local for a midweek dinner. The service was prompt and friendly. We ordered crispy chicken wings and mushrooms in a crust with garlic dip to start. Tasty... but the chicken wings were anything but crispy. We waited for our starter to be cleared but, what we got was our main course served in the manner of fast food... so fast, that there was no pause between courses! Our starter crockery and cutlery was still on the table! We were out for a well earned dinner. It would have been nice to have a chat between courses, but clearly we were deemed to be in a sprint, rather than a leisurely dinner! Weâd both ordered fillet steak for our main, cooked medium rare. They were lovely pieces of meat but, medium rare they were not! The lady serving came back to ask if everything was ok, and I informed her that both steaks were over cooked. She took both meals back - phew! We got a chance to have a conversation! The meals were brought out again. She stood to check everything was ok and, low and behold, they were exactly the same! She offered to take them back again but, I told her we had waited long enough, and as we were hungry, weâd eat them. When I went to pay, they apologised and knocked our starters and drinks off the bill. Good gesture but, as the mains were the problem, and the most expensive aspect of the bill, in hindsight, I shouldâve asked for that to be knocked off. Iâm sorry, but if a client asks for something, doesnât get it and sends it back, surely a chef worth their salt would make sure the next one was spot on.... just saying!

Hubby and I called into Pretty Mary's on our way to catch the Liverpool Ferry. Like other reviewers we found the place quite dated and, because Royal Ascot was on, there was some serious betting going on. Don't let that put you off, because we both had one of the tastiest meals, well cooked food and with good service and reasonably priced. We'd definitely return again if we were passing. We both visited the toilets on our way out and, again, they were both spotlessly clean.

Went here for a Boxing Day meal with the family. Had a starter and main course, which where both amazing! Definitely recommend the hot wings! The main course was delicious, the chicken and sauce were a brilliant combination! The staff were even more helpful with bringing a few round of drinks to our table without having to move. Will definitely be back!
Having been told to leave the Cellar Bar I decided to come in here. Itâs a classic Irish Corner bar serving lovely pints of smithwicks.Whilst watching the Liverpool game I was chatting to a bloke from Croydon and one from Stoke! Barman was sound very chatty and looked after us all.
Great friendly service and I have been for lunch and dinner to the bistro. The food is cooked well and the presentation exceeds what you would expect! The burgers for lunch are excellent.. especially to cure a hangover!! The evening menu is good with a good choice for everyone. Kid friendly also..
