Just in from Calgary and on our way from Kristiansand to Risor, we stopped in Lillesand to have dinner/Sjoebua is located right on the harbour and has a very convenient parking lot a few metres away. We were shown to a table on the water and our drink orders were quickly taken. Our table was a sticky mess, which was cleaned up, but the floor all around our table was also horribly sticky and we asked to be moved somewhere else. There were four of us and we each really enjoyed our food, two fish and chips, one fish soup and one gluten free veggie burger. We rated the soup and burger as 5's and the fish as 4. The blackberry mojito was rated a 3 by my son.Overall, a four out of five due to that sticky table and floor and the good, not great, fish and chips. The service was very good, the view over the harbour was fantastic.Like every place in Norway, it was not cheap.
Nice place with modern interiors and friendly service. A good place to order a classic lettuce, mayo and shrimp sandwich with a generous serving of shrimps.
This is a small pub focusing on what pubs should: Beverages and pubgrup, but their ace up their sleve is Danish open sandwiches or smørbrød in Norwegian. Note! They do it the Danish way which is far better than the standard Norwegian. You may sit inside the rather narrow room or enjoy the small garden at the back. On Fridays they have this weekly plus, serving a dish for little money. The dish varies through the year; sandwiches, casseroles, etc.Why a four then, you may wonder. Well because of this stern focus on Danish produce you can not get the most sold beer in this southern part of Norway, CB. Which is a shame and probably has to do with the Ringnes brewery which dominates beerproduction in Norway. There are of course not only their own and some Danish types, Ringnes makes Frydenlund. You can get Kronenburgh and other types. And aquavites and the like. One thing I think they should change when families want to come: The agelimit is 25. I do understand they don't want teens coming on their own. But when we wanted to go there, the two teens couldn't. So we had to eat elsewhere that day.

Fantastisk god service.
