The Scottish Steakhouse is located within the Macdonald Spey Valley Resort in Aviemore. We are passionate about great food, service, value and most of all, outstanding steak. Simple ingredients, cooked to perfection by talented chefs. True to our Scottish
Enjoyed our meal here when visiting MacDonald Spey Valley Resort.. Disappointed there was no smoked salmon starter left but enjoyed the prawn cocktail. The blackpudding scotch eggs were also great. Ribeye steak and beef bourginon were also excellent and no deserts were required. The atmosphere was great with fire burning and twinkling lights and the staff were to be commended for their service. We also enjoyed the Scottish Music after dinner, a shame it wasn't better supported.
This Bar/Restaurant is on the Aviemore Holiday Park and the food is excellent and at very reasonable prices. We've been here quite a few times now and not been dis-appointed with any meal. It's all home made food, including the sweets/puddings and is served in the very large cosy bar. This time of year is very cosy as they have a large log fire roaring away with a couple of sofa's near the fire for you to relax on before and after your meal. Being only a five minute walk from the centre of Aviemore, or there is plenty of car parking spaces, makes it an ideal location for your meal and a drink. We'll be back again, soon.

Each time we visit Newtonmore and Kingussie, we visit The Glen at least once - we've never struggled to get a table, without booking. It's not fine dining, and doesn't remotely claim to be, but the food's great - unpretentious British 'pub' fare, with a few interesting local variants, including venison. Vegetarians plainly aren't just an afterthought - try the veggie haggis.Haddock and chips might seem an unexciting choice, but you'll reliably get a larger fish than anywhere else! We'll be back....

I usually go to the restaurant a lot so decided to take the family here today and we had to wait ten min for table which was fine as was thunder in the glen weekend, got seated the man who served us was stressed to high heaven and asked us if we were ready to order we went to speak and he wandered off to another table then came back and stood like we only had two mins to make our desision then wandered of to do a bill ,finally ordered and waited an hour and ten mins for food with no one saying sorry for your wait but your food would be a little while we would of understood, the dinner comes out we had ordered 2 jacket potato and salad and potato was burnt taste burnt so tell the waiter and he replaces it only to bring it out again and thatâs even worse just black come on a jacket potato it looked liked it had sat there for days or left on warmer to long just this place is usually so good but this is the 2 nd time itâs been not up to scratch my family not impressed ,if you short staff etc sort that out or close honestly

Typical Village Pub come under New ownership as of the 2nd of November 2018. We offer simplistic food to a high standard and a low price. At the Bar youâll find a selection of local whisky, gin and Cask Ales boasting a permanent line of Cairngorm Brewery
My family, including my 7 year old grandson, went here for dinner on Saturday 27th July 2019. We were staying at Loch Insh and arrived around 6.30pm. We weren't sure whether to go to Aviemore or Kingussie. Oh how I wish we'd turned right to Aviemore....We arrived in this pub and waited to be seated by a lovely young girl. She told us that the kitchen weren't taking anymore orders for 30 minutes as there was "only one chef". We decided to wait it out rather than look elsewhere at that time of night, especially as we were unfamiliar with the area. The young lady took our drinks order. There was heavy rock music playing (loudly) which turned out to be the jukebox. Fair enough. My grandson asked if he could choose some music. Unfortunately there was a drunk man hanging over the jukebox so we couldn't get to it. Another man witnessed it and asked the drunk man to move. My grandson was a bit scared so we quickly pressed anything and rushed back to our table through the back. Being a 50 year old woman, this didn't bother ME too much, folk get drunk in pubs right?? Our order was eventually taken - quicker than the 30 minutes originally stated so we were happy at that. 2 orders were for macaroni, 1 for a beef burger and 1 children's chicken goujons. The meals arrived within 15 minutes of ordering. My macaroni was presented to me and I immediately noticed it had the consistency of soup. And it was green and white! I began eating it and noticed that the green was a herb which didn't go with the dish. I was informed that it was parsley, a LOT of parsley. Any chef knows that a woody herb like parsley shouldn't be used in macaroni, surely right? The beef burger was overdone. I returned my macaroni, my sister ate hers as she was so hungry. My grandson thoroughly enjoyed his chicken. My other sister ate some half her meal. My sisters stood at the bar to pay the bill. I removed my grandson as there were so many drunk men in the bar by this point. The till roll ran out in the till. The 2 very young waitresses didn't know how to sort it. They finally called the CHEF through to do it. That process took 14 minutes. My sister explained that one meal was sent back as it was inedible due to the parsley being at odds with the actual dish. The chef refused to remove it from the bill. My sister, being a publican herself for many years, advised him that this is standard practice, good customer service. He still refused to remove it or even offer a discount. At that my sisters walked out, putting the whole thing down to experience. When we spoke to one of the staff at our accommodation about it she advised us that it's just a local pub where local folk go, not tourists. She stated that when guests ask where they can eat out they ALWAYS say Aviemore and tell people NOT to go to Kingussie!! Too late for us. On another note, I always carry antibacterial wipes in my bag. We had made a bit of a mess with salt in the table. I wiped it off - and the wipe was BLACK! The table was filthy! I am not angry. This is just an honest review of my own experience. I gain nothing by leaving a rotten review. I am NOT a complained by nature. I just want to warn off any other tourists. I'll leave by saying this - whoever is replying to other folks' reviews about this place needs a lot of training in customer care! You don't just argue with reviewers because you don't like their review! Thank you for reading.Hi, we know you well and were awaiting this review. You entered the premises and were seated at a recently wiped table as it had just been turned over from a previous 4 sat there. You ordered your food and the two macaroni cheese meals were sent out and neither were returned even after our waitresses both asked if everything was okay with the meal this was option one to return the meal and have it removed from the tab. Then when clearing the plates waitresses again asked if everything was okay and again no issues were bought to us. Then when it came to the bill being paid issues arose. Preference issues. No hospitality or food establishment removes a charge for a meal that at the last moment is stated that you didnât enjoy. Furthermore you did not ask what the herbs were, as it is Mixed herbs which many top chefs add to a cheese sauce and no attempts were made to talk to the chef. We are happy to accept that there was a longer than normal wait and that the food may not have been to your liking and for that we apologise however the exaggerations are outstanding just because you didnât receive a free meal.Regards âthe one chefâ

Great atmosphere from a packed pub Live music had a heavy metal rock band who were loud but entertaining. Bar staff served well considering it was three deep at the bar not much eye candy for the boys as it was 90% blokes. Highlight for me was the guitarist and vocalist playing happy birthday to you for my mate in the heaviest base possible worth a visit been before and will most likely return.

The Old Bridge Inn, Aviemore, offers a roaring log fire and cheerful atmosphere along with excellent food and a fine selection of cask ales and malt whiskies. It has always been a favourite haunt for those who enjoy the outdoors, while friendly staff and
Popped in for a few drinks on the way back to our hotel. In the main, the staff were pleasant although one chap was a little abrupt whereas the others all seemed to be enjoying their jobs.I'm not sure I would want to eat here though as I witnessed a few of the team petting dogs and handling a water bowl for dogs and they didn't appear to wash their hands before handling food and drinks.

We fancied stopping for a tasty meal. It was a cold wet dark evening and we were on our way to camp for the night with a big hill day the following day. We ordered scampi and chips and chicken Macdui. When our meals arrived I definitely felt disappointed....... overcooked peas and unappetising looking chips.....lukewarm; the scampi was hot. A wedge of lemon on the plate but nothing else. My partners chicken was lukewarm and it looked like there was no veggies with it. He did uncover a couple of pieces of roasted carrot I think. The place is definitely popular with people waiting for tables but with the standard of food we had I wouldnât go back.
