The Lunesdale Arms is a well established pub in a stunning area of Lancashire. With excellent food and fantastic ales and wines, we are a popular venue for both lunch and dinner.
We last went to the Lunesdale Arms a few years ago and didn't like it very much. However we'd heard it had re-opened under new management so we decided to give it a go for lunch, and we were so glad that we did - it's now absolutely excellent! It's a lovely bright building divided into a number of smaller areas. The first thing you notice is the artworks scattered around, all of them interesting but not dominating the space. We sat at the far end of the room - the manager kindly turned down the volume of the music and we were very comfortable. It was immediately noticeable that a lot of attention had been paid to the little details - really elegant cutlery, for example, and nice napkins. Service was friendly and attentive, with good guidance of the menu. The menu is quite small, but with a great deal of interesting dishes. I had a chicken and chorizo sandwich on toasted ciabatta - absolutely excellent, with tangy chorizo, home-made bread and tasy fries. Friends had a couple of the small dishes - arancini and lamb koftas - which were also delicious. The wine list was also good - it's the first time I've seen a Greek wine on a wine list locally, and there was also a good range of unusual Italian reds. The only thing missing, perhaps, was a dessert wine. The desserts looked yummy but waistlines forbad them.All-in-all, it was an excellent meal in lovely surroundings and very, very good value. We shall certainly be back!

Welcome to The Game Cock Inn a Traditional Yorkshire Dales pub, restaurant and B&B with a cosy bar, real fire, award winning restaurant, delicious food with a French twist and comfortable, quality accommodation.
We visted the pub initially just for dinner. The food was excellentwith a modern, fusion twist. The service was fantastic, the chef even came to speak to us to ask if everything was ok. After dinner we intended to have just one drink but because of such a friendly and welcoming atmosphere we ended up being the last customers leaving. I would highly recommend it and certainly visit again.

We visited this pub on the off chance once completing Pen-y-Ghent. Richard the bar man was so accommodating and we absolutely loved the food. It was fresh, wholesome and so tasty! We have driven past this pub many times and so upset we never visited sooner! We will definitely be returning again for some very good quality food!

A warm & welcoming traditional pub, home-made food, real ales & lovely beer garden.
This is a lovely local pub with an excellent landlord/lady who have taken this on and with their many years experience have made a great start in making this a success. The food was excellent and the atmosphere was lively with the locals.

Traditional pub food and excellent cask ales in a beautiful part of the Yorkshire Dales.
Motorcycling around England we were finding it difficult to get accommodation in the Yorkshire Dales but the Craven Heifer had rooms so we took a chance for a 3 nighter & so pleased we did.The pub is under new ownership & management along with fully refurbished rooms, each with en-suite.We were warmly welcomed by Lynne who showed us to our room, which was equipped with a very comfy king size bed. The room size is good & the toilet shower ensuite clean & a great shower. The food on offer is high standard pub menu with vegetarian options. The bar is lively at night & good fun but doesnât intrude too much if you need an early night.Congratulations to Lynne & her team for a great well run pub & rooms - we loved our time there!

Six of us had a wonderful meal here on Tuesday evening. Great service, really well cooked food and imaginative and well presented desserts. Enjoyed it so much that we returned on Wednesday evening for a repeat performance and we were all equally impressed. Recommend for great food, friendly service, old world ambience and good selection of beers.

Masons Freehouse. Publice House, open daily. We serve food all day. We have three cosy en- suite bedrooms. We have traditional ales and logs fires.
Visited on a Tuesday evening at 7.00, having booked - place was packed out and whilst we had a reserved table it was a little cramped. Food was very good and service was good if a little slow. beer was excellent . Pricing wise a little high but not excessive - Would visit again - but ensure you book!
