We have been visiting The Honeypot for several years on our family holiday's to Filey.Quite old style and dim / dark interior to the pub, and this time had at least a 45 minute wait for food which we weren't told about. Those small negatives are totally outweighed by the wonderful meals. A really extensive menu with so much choice and most main courses are around £10 each. The food has always been fantastic and the portions are large.I highly recommend the steak and onion pie, homemade and shortcrust pastry and with a delicious gravy- my go to meal and one not to be missed!!Already looking forward to returning again on next year's holiday.

What a lovely place for lunch. Worth a short drive inland from the coast. Painstakingly restored, attentive staff and knowledgeable owner. Great they also allowed our 2 dogs, water provided for them. Delicious fresh food, good gluten free menu. I wish this establishment the very best, you deserve it. If ever back this way we will be back.Hello carolyn hThank you so much for coming to have lunch with us. Your recommendation that people take the drive inland to us was very much appreciated.I'm so glad you enjoyed your time with us and thank you for highlighting that our four legged furry family members are always welcome in The Parlour.....(I hope you won't mind, for the benefit of other guests, if I mention that if anyone wishes to dine in that area it's always wise to make a reservation.)I'm delighted that you enjoyed your time with us and your kind and complimentary words are very much appreciated.Thank you very much indeed for your best wishes and I do hope you will have chance to visit us again at sometime in the future.

5 adults and 1 infant were staying nearby and chose this pub for our evening meal one day based on TA reviews. We were not disappointed. Good size pub style meals, well presented. Good value.Helpful and friendly staff. When we arrived all tables in the bar were occupied so they opened up an adjoining room for us (and we were soon joined by other diners).

Fell over this gem while looking around for somewhere to eat Sunday lunch. We both went for the 2 meat choice and there certainly wasnât a shortfall in quantity. The meats were cooked to perfection as where the vast selection of vegetables. Service was prompt and the staff were lovely and friendly. Even though we were full we couldnât resist the sweet menu. Definitely highly recommended.

Whenever we're in Yorkshire we go to the Cottage Inn for their excellent food, they have a varied menu through the week, & their Sunday lunch is yummy too, think we've tried near enough everything on their menu, it's all lovely, very reasonable priced too. The staff are very friendly & welcoming, especially Jordan, who we have a bit of a banter with about rugby. Call in, you won't be disappointed.

We visited this pub as we are staying in the village Very warm welcome and friendly helpful staff Good bar selection of beers and spirits Cosy village pub atmosphere apart from incredibly loud music which interferes with conversation level. Dog friendly which is lovelyThey have a games room and also darts played on a Yorkshire dart board The food though very sadly was only average The pie was home made and a reasonable portion but average for taste and pastry No additional gravy which would have been welcome New potatoes peas and carrots accompanied although one of us opted for chips which were frozen ones rather than ârealâ My starter however was a large bowl of tomato soup which was I think tinned but very nice. The chicken fillets were very good but the chicken wings were average In general a nice village pub offering a warm friendly welcome including your dog, good beers and bar stock and average pub food

We chose The Ship Inn based on a review from another traveller and I'm really glad we did. We'd phoned ahead as we have dogs and when we arrived they'd set up a table for us in a quiet corner, which was perfect. The team were lovely and friendly, and the service was excellent. Food was hearty and very tasty. My other half had beef stroganoff with half and half rice and chips - she wants to go back just for the chips, they were excellent. I had game pie from the specials board, I wasn't disappointed. I would normally complain that it wasn't pastry all round but the game was delicious and the portion so big that I didn't miss the extra pastry. The accompanying veg was perfectly cooked. They packed up the leftover game for the pooches (they loved it) and offered table service throughout. We will be going back.Thank you for lovely comments hope to see you again very soon! Team Ship

A wide selection of quality food prepared with fresh, local and seasonal produce. Our 'Wold Famous', award winning, pies are complimented with a well stocked cellar and a relaxed, friendly atmosphere.
Nice little old fashioned pub in a lovely location. It was booked by friends who live nearby, but they hadnât been there before. A huge choice of pie fillings (30+)but we did say, later, that weâd rather have had about 6-8 choices and known it was super fresh. The menus were a bit grubby & tatty - a pet hate of mine as it makes me want to wash my hands again! It was mid week lunch so wasnât busy at all, prompt service. Huge portions. The filling in my steak & kidney was delicious but my man found the steak & guiness filling in his a bit too mushy. The crust wasnât very short - a bit too crunchy & dry and didnât compare well with a pie weâd had in a Hawsker pub a couple of days earlier. Veg, chips & gravy all really good. The young woman on the bar was lovely, really helpful and polite. Thank you for your feedback following your recent visit to the Piebald Inn.We have had an extremely busy summer and consequently our menus have been in constant use, however we are awaiting new ones from our printers. We use high quality meat in all of our dishes, and during cooking this can fall apart - all pies are freshly cooked daily.Looking forward to seeing you soon,Best regards
