Reviews on Pub food in Ghent, East Flanders Province, Belgium. Belgium's fourth-largest - and most beautiful - city is home to a quarter of a million people and a flourishing flower export trade. An important port, Ghent's city center is a pedestrian area that is like a museum to early Flemish architecture and a testament to the city's medieval might. Impressive Gothic sites, such as dramatic St. Bavo's Cathedral and the Castle of the Counts, inspire awe. The works of Flemish masters are housed in the distinguished Museum voor Schone Kunst.

The smallest bar in Ghent! You can't miss this bar while visiting Ghent...
This cute café doesnt serve fries as was stated in some of the other reviews. They have cheese, salami and olives, but for a high price and not a lot of quality.Ambiance is cosy and they had football on, wich was also nice.Hi, did you know that you can buy fries close to us and ear them at our bar/terrace when buying a drink? To correct you:We serve cheese from a local farmer, gentse kop made by a butcher in town, same as for the salami (so fresh not from a shop), serranoham aged for 5years, olives , from a local turkish shop, tierenteyn mustard from well known thé mutserd maker in Ghent. So we might say we do not buy cheap - high quantities selled food in grosery stores. Every week I do thr shopping for these goods so a bit pitty to read your comment on the not high quality? We are glad that you did enjoy the football and the ambiance!

Ghent has a few Irish Pubs, but we've always preferred this one. The atmosphere is just right (dark cozy corners inside, spacious room outside), and we do enjoy the food; a decent selection of burgers and sides topped with cheese brought back the England-feeling for us. The only downside is that you might have to wait for your food for quite a bit, but if you are in good company, that doesn't seem too bad. Some days are reserved for folk nights, and sports are also often screened. Whenever we go in, something always seems to be going on. It's great fun, really.

Irish pub / sports restaurant
After a long day of driving, we needed something easy and a short walk from the hotel (Ghent Marriott). A quick check of TA showed the Celtic Towers Pub to be nearby. The staff was kind enough to let us sit in prime window seats, despite our lack of reservations. After sorting out the beer, we opted for the sausage and fries shareable, and entrees included burgers, and fish & chips. The food was delivered hot and quick. The food was good and the staff was great. Recommended.

This is in the main square so youâre paying for that. We sat outdoors and enjoyed seeing some tourists and many locals stop here. Service was ok, food was ok. My partner had the beef stew which he claims was very good, my fish stew was good - fewer potatoes and more fish than at other places. There wasnât much flavoring though - this is not supposed to be spicy I know, but the white fish tasted of nothing.Go if youâre here and donât want to be bothered finding something further afield.
