My wife and I live in Reno, but we were visiting Fresno and met friends of ours at this restaurant for a Saturday lunch. Weâd never eaten here before so we were looking forward to it. I ordered a Hawaiian treatment for their signature Harris Ranch burger and a cup of their shrimp chowder soup. Iâm from New England so I am on a never-ending quest for good chowder. Well, this was probably the best chowder Iâve had in 10 years. The only disappointment to the chowder was that I only ordered a cup instead of a bowl! It had a cream base and the shrimp was supplemented with bacon (or actually, according to Chef Gary, it is pork belly). Whatever it was, the chowder was very memorable and Iâd highly recommend it to any/all diners. My burger was also delicious and the accompanying french fries were outstanding. I like fries that are better-cooked and these were thick fries that had a nice, crispy outer skin. My wife had a beet salad and she loved it; one of the garnishes of her delicious salad were walnuts coated in some kind of sweet concoction. Although alcohol is available at The Point, we both just ordered the ice tea. Our friend asked our server if the tea was standard âor some kind of foo-foo tasteâ? She assured us the tea was not of some exotic, unusual taste; we all had the ice tea and it was good. Our server kept our teas well-iced throughout our meal; she was very attentive to all of our needs. This was a fantastic visit and will be our go-to place in Fresno on future visits.

After a quiet opening last year, we have been working hard to create our identity and build relationships with our guests. We have been largely shaped by the feedback we have received - starting with our Beta-tasting concept and transitioning into online
Our server was amazing! He made our experience amazing. Attentive, polite, and made great food suggestions. The food was 4*, but Christopher B pushed the experience to 5*. Love coming off peak times. Room was quiet and we could have a great conversation .

We came here on a Monday night for dinner on a business trip. When we arrived the restaurant was pretty quiet and we were seated immediately. I ordered a flight and tried 4 different beers. All were good but I think my favorite was the General Sherman IPA. There wasnât too much that was unique or special about the beer but I would definitely try it again. The restaurant itself was open and spacious with a nice bar as you walk through the front door. The servers were very friendly and pleasant making it a nice atmosphere to enjoy dinner and a drink. For food we started with an appetizer of fried green beans. They were pretty normal for a fried appetizer but hit the spot after a long drive to Fresno. For dinner I had the special shrimp boil. It was a foil pouch with shrimp, andouille sausage, corn, and red potatoes. This was the special as a part of the Mardi Gras celebration. When it arrived it was just as described, and in fact, looked like how I make my shrimp boil at home. It had a very home-cooked look and flavor that was surprising for a restaurant. The only downside was that there wasnât a lot of shrimp or sausage (maybe 5 small pieces of each) in the pouch. It was mostly potatoes (probably 2 1/2) and a small ear of corn. Overall the flavor was good and I didnât leave hungry. I would return to Sequoia to try their pizza and a pint of General Sherman IPA.

One of my criteria for a pleasant place to eat, is environment. This restaurant has indoor, bar and outdoor seating. Indoor seating is very noisy and outdoor seating isn't always available outdoors due to weather. If I want to sit in relatively silently thru my meal, this is perfect. It is not a place (indoors) to have a group conversation. There are always specials, which are worth trying. I haven't had a bad meal here. The beers are fun and varied. The salads come in funky metal bowls. Most of the sandwiches require multiple napkins. Juicy and fresh.

This place is really great! Itâs right in the middle of an outdoor mall. When we were there tonight on a Thursday, we could even hear live music down the street sitting outside. The food was really good, the drinks were really cold, but what really stood out was our service! Our waitress was absolutely amazing! She took care of us and made recommendations and was always there when we needed something, but never bugged us. I would recommend this place and will definitely be back next time Iâm in Madera!

About the Duck We are a family of seven friends who wanted to build a restaurant that values integrity over profits, quality over laziness, and our guests above all. When we first got the idea for the Duck we wanted to do it right, we wanted to do it simp
The servers and atmosphere create a neighborhood bar and grill feel. The menu offers variety so everyone at your meal can find something they like. If you are craving "bar food" the fried pickles and seasoned fries are favorites. For a meal, try the AHI tacos or any of their sandwiches. The Steak Bites is a favorite Appetizer. This is a favorite local spot for us!
