Ordered the rump steak with added prawns.. For $5.50 extra there was two over cooked almost inedible prawns, for the rest of the meal it was a tiny, poorly cooked piece of steak with an egg on top. This is a tourist trap. Avoid as i am sure that there are better places in town.

This restaurant has excellent food and a livelly atmosphere. The only criticism is it's quite cramped which could be a plus in the wintertime as it has a fireplace and all, but in the summer time it was a bit of a squeeze.

The White Pub Cafe and Bar is open from evening dining from 5.30Pm until 9pm in the winter and until 9.30Pm in the summer. The Bar opens from 4pm and is equipped with a large screen TV, pool table, and small casino.

We read with dismay of the bridge collapse but were still determined to get part way of our west coast trip. Towns still need tourists so off we headed and arrived in Fox Glacier late afternoon. We enquired with the front desk staff of our hotel where to eat who advised most establishments were closed due to no tourists but try the pub.We received a warm welcome from the staff and once settled with our wine we checked the menu. Salmon and vegies for my sister and I ordered the myshroom risotto and a bowl of veggies. Meals arrived promptly and were delicious. Couple more wines, lovely chat to the French Canadian waiter and our night came to a close.A great country pub that serves tourists and the locals. Highly recommend.

The restaurant was fantastic! Enthusiastic, accommodating staff and the food was cooked to perfection. Had a beautiful lamb shank dish, would recommend!
