I've eaten at Antler's twice. The first time, I went with business associates. The cheeseburger and fries were pretty good, but we had a hard time getting drink refills (or even straws!) because the waitress was so hard of hearing. The place was really busy for weekday lunch, and the special (hot beef sandwich) looked pretty good, too. We had the fried pickles, which were breaded chips served with ranch dressing - pretty good. The second time, I took my husband there for lunch. It was empty when we arrived at 11:00 am, so service was prompt and from the owners themselves. The corn nuggets were tasty, molten inside. My pork tenderloin was pretty darned good - and twice the size of the bun - so I cut it in half and took the rest home as a leftover. It was pounded thin and nicely fried. My husband had the special of the day - chipped beef on toast. He said it was pretty good. As you might imagine, Antler's is decorated with lots of taxidermy - mostly deer heads and skulls - so you have to be able to appreciate them looking down on you while you eat. The owner was willing to talk to my husband about local deer hunting, since he has taken down most of the ones mounted on the walls. Given the name of the restaurant, I was disappointed that venison wasn't on the menu - which mostly consisted of sandwiches and fried appetizers. The food was good overall, just nothing really special or interesting. They had a children's menu, which is unusual for a bar. They are located right next to a railroad track that was switching lines while we ate lunch - so we were concerned about getting out - but it cleared by the time we wanted to leave.
The bar is a friendly family fun place. Where a working man or woman can have a few toss some darts and shoot pool and not worry about drama it's all good at The Boot

I went to Applebeeâs at lunch time. I used the much time menu option. It was 10 dollars for two very small servings. If you want to eat small this is for you. Then upon checking my bill there was an additional 1.99 added to my bill for I didnât know what. I asked it was for using the game player they set at the table. I hadnât touched it. Be sure and check your bill. They did refund it back. I was not charged correctly after ordering food in Mason City either using this money grabbing machine. Enjoy your lunch and be sure you take time to check your bill as my last two have not been for the correct amounts.

Found this when in the Quality Inn (search). It's in a residential kind of neighborhood, and we had a problem finding it a first. Glad we did. Lovely friendly place, small but very busy. Beer in mason jars, good little sliders. I had the crab cake sliders which were just ok, husband had the hamburger sliders which were very good. Just a nice little place, don't expect high end restaurant food but a good selection of bar/grill food. I saw one person with a great looking wrap! Well worth the find - definitely our style. Limited parking since it is in a residential area, so the business itself has only a few spaces.

Service was mediocre: server kept yawning without covering her mouth while taking our order, drinks were slow to arrive and requested sides had to be asked for a second time. Food was okay - flatbread was good, but the broasted chicken was dry and lacked seasoning.
