So the atmosphere in the non bar could really use some help. It apparently is a coffee club hangout based on the pictures. My husband said the bar was kind of cool- but we had our kids with us. We came in around 11:30 am on a weekday in August; it looked like many students were heading back to pacific. The food was good, and we'd totally go back for take out food, but perhaps it was the day, the time, or something, but it took a bit longer for our food to come than I would have expected based on how many people were there. The man that helped us was really nice, so between friendly service and decent food, we'll give it another shot hoping for quicker service.
My husband & I ate here on Oct 13 Sunday early evening and not only was the food the worst I've had in recent memory it was prepared and served by an employee whom I later overheard saying she was sick. Well of course, shortly thereafter I became sick with a persistent and painful illness. Aside from that the place is a dive bar with a grill which is not always a bad thing but the place is very cluttered with random stuff sitting around sort of like a storage locker that needs to be cleaned. Specifically my philly cheesesteak sandwich was so overcook the beef was like leather and the onion, pepper, cheese was one big slimy greasy, revolting blob. I'm pretty angry about loosing 2 weeks of my life (I have another chronic illness that causes viruses to be especially difficult for me) to what amounts to inconsideration for my well being. For some people an illness like this could fatal depending on the fragility of their health.

Burgers and ice tea and fries and kettle chips. Great experience. Dark rundown place but sweet server, friendly cook. Enjoyed ourselves.

On a very warm afternoon, we had lunch under the trees and umbrellas, with our dog at our feet, at Pat's Corner. The menu included all the McMenamins' usual offerings. The pork sandwich and a cheeseburger were our choices, along with some McMenamins' brews.Service by Victoria was friendly and efficient, and we lingered a long while, taking turns exploring the rest of the Grand Lodge while our dog stayed cool in the shade. This park-like venue was the perfect refuge from the heat, and we'll probably be back!

The first time I ate here, after my return to Oregon, was being feted by 12 relatives, in honor of my birthday. I had steak, that night, which was excellently prepared! Even though the restaurant was full, it did not impact the swiftness and cordiality of the wait staff that was attending to us.The next time I visited, was in the company of my wife. There is a movie theater, a couple of floors up, which shows first run movies; more about that in another review. Back to dinner; that night I enjoyed fish; excellently prepared; and I also had French Fries, with Truffle Sauce. I have never had better Fries in my life. We sat in a quiet, almost exclusive corner, where we could pay attention to each other, without the pressure of being near other people. Again, the waitress was cordial and attentive.I returned, another time, with two friends. We were being light and jovial, with no end to the stories and laughs that we shared. There was a great selection of beers, both draft and bottled, from which to choose. This was a day for burgers, which were of a nice proportion, and delicious! I was compelled to get those Truffle Fries again! We had a great time together, and the food was a great part of our conviviality! As you can see, I am reviewing three meals, which the choices below, have no way of recording; but I had to give the readers a better idea of the various settings.

We wanted a light lunch and found that this place had several salads on the menu. The portions are generous and well cut and mixed. Not too much dressing. My husbands salad was nicely dressed and tossed. Mine barely had any dressing on it, - Id rather that than swimming. Anyway, with the goat cheese I didn't miss the lack of dressing. I'd go back to try other menu items. Staff very helpful and courteous.
