I am sure many visitors walk past Cafe du Commerce and see the pavement tables and even the dusky bar, and miss the fact that beyond the bar is a quaint indoor restaurant with vaulted ceilings, great service and good food. In contrast, many restaurants in the area expect people to eat outdoors, and offer soulless cramped indoor accomodation for rainy weather use. Our party had lamb cutlets with rosemary (both locally grown), and duck with honey sauce. Typically Provencal, and little to find fault with.So if you are in Forcalquier, cafe du Commerce is worth a try for oudoor or indoor dining.

Nach dem Markttag in Forcalquier haben wir hier etwas getrunken. Der Service war nicht sehr bemÃ¼ht, ein LÃ¤cheln wÃ¤re nett gewesen. Kaffee und GetrÃ¤nke kamen nach einiger Wartezeit, am Pastis kann man nicht viel falsch machen. Dass die GÃ¤ste am Nachbartisch ihre mitgebrachte Verpflegung verspeiste, spricht fÃ¼r die GleichgÃ¼ltigkeit des Personals. Beim nÃ¤chsten Mal probieren wir eine andere Bar aus.

Simple menu, straightforward food and all the better for that. Beautiful location in this laid-back Luberon village with uninterrupted views across to Mont Ventoux. Charming, friendly welcome and service. Perfect for a relaxed evening meal and a return for Sunday lunch. Try the delicious home-made desserts!Very well done to the young proprietor and his excellent colleague. Give them your support, they deserve to do very well.
