Visited here the night of European Championship as had friends and wanted some peace to chat!! Wow is it peaceful. A great real pub even got the old fashioned pub smell of beer - yes beer not your fancy rubbish stuff so many drink now. Good beer good customers good member of staff and a nice peaceful pint with real conversation. Sat outside on the banks of the River Dee as the sky darkened. Really ace view and calmness. Loved it.

Ordered sirloin steak, medium with peppercorn sauce.Received sirloin steak, well done swimming in peppercorn sauce, CRISP salad on the same plate was actually soggy with peppercorn sauce, chips in a separate dish. Surely chips on plate and sauce in small sauce jug would have been better. Didnât enjoy this meal mainly because of the sauce absolutely drowning the steak and salad, the sauce was more like gravy....too much sauce. Totally ruined the meal .... and the birthdayHello Jack1e,Thank you for your comments. I'm sorry the steak was not as you expected. We don't serve the sauce in a jug because the sauce is cooked in with the steak (so the meaty flavours in the pan enhance the sauce)I'm sorry you were unsatisfied with the steak however but we would have welcomed the chance to rectify this at the time, I hope you can appreciate it is difficult for us to correct such a problem after the event.Kind regards

Located on The Parade which, many years ago, used to be a busy waterfont with ships anchoring on the Quay, only yards from the front door. The Ship now has a view over the silted up estuary of the River Dee, and a thriving wild life sanctuary, to the hils of Wales. With plenty of off road car parking, the pub has a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, and is obviously popular. When we arrived at noon it was virtually empty, but within half an hour there was hardly a spare table available in the cozy bar area. With a good local beer, and a wide range of gins, whiskies and other spirits, complemented by a reasonable wine selection there was sufficient to meet most tastes, whilst the food menu was reasonably varied with a number of home made items. The home made fish pie was great, but spoilt by the undercooked and almost cold vegetables, stringy mange tout and difficult to cut cauliflower. The sticky toffee pudding was, again, first class, the service staff were cheerful and willing, ut The Ship could 'up its game' in certain aspect of the food offering.Dear John T,We are sad to hear we did not provide you with the best possible experience. Lack of focus, carelessness and indifference is not what we are known for. We are sorry your experience was not reflective of our reputation. In future a manager on duty would happily change your veg if you prefer it to be cooked more. Our veg generally gets cooked al dente so as it retains all it's nutrients, but we appreciate different people have different tastes. It is thanks to feedback like yours that we can tackle issues that may impact our most valuable asset, our customers. Thanks again for your honest feedback,The Ship Management
This is a local working man's pub in flint, funny enough I watched this being built, I was around 8 at the time, so it's over 50 years old, it has a nice friendly atmosphere, and a nice lounge, child friendly, good choice of beers a d spirits.
This pub is in church street in flint, so it's local, nice staff, and a good manager, sports always on, food available, kid and dog friendly, and pool and darts, entertainment at weekends, great local pub.outside bar open for the summer, nice beer garden also.

You have possibly heard jokes about pubs in Wales where they don't like foreigners. I as a female was made very uncomfortable by someone here who KEPT on about the English not being welcome. My companions also felt uncomfortable on my behalf. They were Scottish and Irish so seen as OK

We always love to pop and have a meal here. The only issue we have, and only reason we don't visit more often, is because they still don't cater for people like myself and a friend, who prefer a cold meal such as a Caeser Salad, or Salmon with a salad for health and dietary reasons. I don't feel because you go out in the evening to eat, you have to have hot food.Dear Cae61,thank you for taking the time to review The Celtic Arms.It is lovely to hear that you enjoy the food here at The Celtic and that you visit on a regular basis. We will take your comments on board in regards to offering a wider variety of cold dishes, if you ask a member of staff or management we will be able to do this for you as all of our staff are very keen to meet any requests that you have.We hope to see you again very soon.

Visited this evening with my partner and my mum for her birthday, enjoyed a lovely meal! Young blonde lady on the bar was really friendly and helpful, and another lady joined her later in the evening and she was equally friendly and helpful. Partner and I had the pie, which was lovely and no soggy bottom in sight! Chips were lovely and we shared some onion rings. My mum has the cheese toasted sandwich and, although she didnât finish it (she has a tiny appetite!), she thoroughly enjoyed it. Lovely evening; good, value for money food, good service and good company

Trad Country Inn Just Having undergone a major Refurbishment, with roaring log fires and tartan carpets. A fabulous new menu, with speciality wines from bury brother and Rudd in London. Cask ales from our local brewery Facers in Flintshire. Wonderful food
I rang to book a table the night before wanting a table and was assured all OK. So table 8 in the conservatory at 7pm, a table for 2 with a lovely view. It was our wedding anniversary so this seemed perfect. On arriving we were told other people were eating at our table (about half way through!) so we could either have a large table for 6 in the conservatory or sit in the bar again on another large table. We were also told others might be joining us! The more we thought about this we got quite upset and decided to wait for 'our table' So after about 15 minutes we were told our table was ready although it was sticky from spilt drink so I had to cover it with my napkin. We decided on having the fish and chips, said to be the best place in the area for this meal. However there was no fish left it had just been ordered just before we had our table. So we changed our choice reluctantly and it was good food although we did feel very dissatisfied with the service, we weren't even offered a complimentary drink as way of apology. To sum up then if you want fish and chips then book an early table.
