Drove past this restaurant several times whilst visiting Norfolk and decided to go in one evening. My partner and I had not booked but the staff were able to find us a table fairly quickly. The menu was comprehensive with lots of choice. We chose two starters and two mains and one dessert to share and all of the food was delicious and tasty. The serving staff were also really helpful, quick and efficient. Highly recommend and will visit again if I'm ever in the area.

Amazing place to stay the customer service was excellent and nothing was too much trouble for the staff and they were always smiling. Neil has to praised for his initiative at breakfast when he couldnt find any pads so he used a till roll to take the breakfast orders. Will be definitely visiting again for the amazing food and atmosphere of the place

Totally enjoyed the food and vibe, an old fashioned English Pub with modern Asian food thatâs equal to London Chinatown. Locals as well as tourists are welcome equally by the owner Publican Tham.We were just passing and was amazed to find a pub restaurant right in the area of Sandringham. We left satisfied and was pleased with the service, food and most importantly we were not uncomfortable in a strange area.

Having eaten at the Ordnance Arms on a number of previous occasions tonightâs experience was very disappointing. The pub and restaurant have recently changed hands and this evening they found themselves out of their depths. I understand there position with 3 employees on holiday however the service we received was poor. The Ordnance mixed platter is not as appetising as the former Royal starter. My starter arrived incorrect but was quickly rectified. After some delay the main courses arrived. Despite asking for no chilli in 1 dish 2 of the 4 dishes were heavily laced with chilli making them unenjoyable. The manager/ owner removed both from the bill but the poor service and unenjoyable mains will make us think twice about dining here on future visits to the area.

I had high hopes for this pub after reading the reviews however I felt disappointed with our stay. The rooms themselves were quite nice, a few interesting touches and quirky features. Clean and modern considering the age of the pub and a style that complimented the building. On booking it took several attempts to pay, using different cards only to find that there wasn't a problem with our cards, it was operator error with the card machine. I emailed to ask for a receipt and to inform the restaurant that I am gluten-free but we never got a reply. On arrival, we checked in but our restaurant booking at 8.15pm hadn't been made, luckily there was a capacity to fit us in.3 our of the 4 main meals were good but I ordered Lamb rump only to find the piece of meat nearly unediblle as it was tough and chewy. I told our waitress about the meat however the manager told her to tell me that it wasn't his fault, it was just a bad cut of meat. I then ordered a cheeseboard and made a point of mentioning that i am gluten-free only to be sent regular crackers. I had to ask if it was gluten-free, only for them to then change the crackers. This could have made me extremely ill had I not noticed. The next morning at breakfast, there was food on the floor from the night before. We poured our milk for the tea to find it had gone off.Throughout our stay the only person who made feel welcome and seemed happy to be working there was our waitress for our evening meal. Even on checking out I was met with the same glum face that met us at breakfast. I think it's fair to say I won't be returning. So I gave you a generous rating of average.

The Running Horse Fakenham is a Marstons Two for One pub. We offer fantastic value on our main menu and specials boards with deals throughout the week.
The service was slow and poor. There were a very small handful of tables in - our waitress came over to take a drinks order but then never came with the drinks so we asked a young lady who was very lovely, she was nervous but will grow to be an asset to the team. After we got our drinks we waited 20mins to order food - in the end we had to go up to order, we then had a 38mins wait for food although tables who ordered after us got their food earlier. Once we had finished our meal empty plates were sat in front of us for 29mins until a lovely young lady who had just started her shift came over to take them away, she also came back promptly to take our dessert order as well.We visited at 3.30pm, tables were quiet, the manager and a trainee were in and due to other tables being annoyed by the service other staff members got called in early. The food itself was good, the reason many people go is because it's good for the low cost of it. The steak was supposed to be medium but was well done. The quick bite bbq and cheese is a new favourite and the chunky chips are delicious. This is the 4th time we've visited as it is close to us, usually food is cremated and it has shown that some staff lack training.Would not advise.Visited on Wednesday the 30th.Gosh, just for the benifit of Trip Advisor readers, I have reported this review for 2 reasons, 1. The dishes you say are your "new favourite and chunky chips deliciou"s (despite after stating food is cremated ?)However we serve neither of the above, what we do sell is clealy advertised on our online web site.Plus additionally I am GM and unfortunately collect my son at 3.15 every day and I am only person that collects him, I was most definately not in the business. So thank you ocean reviewer, apart from being writing a review for the wrong business, if you are going to rate a "do not advise" I would say seems a little harsh as you named a new favourite and how lovely team were. Also, despite writing over 66 reviews and you live local, its the first for whichever running horse it was that you visited? The team here at the Running Horse Fakenham, jump hoops and work really hard to ensure our guests are happy. However on a personal note if after 4 visists, you still don't like?

Booked for dinner on a weekday evening. Upon arrival greeted by a sign saying 'order your drinks at the bar'. There was no sign of anybody to greet you and take you to the restaurant. The young lad behind the bar was serving two customers who arrived before us. It took him an age to serve two drinks and by this time a few young lads had arrived and stood at the bar. Once the barman had finished serving the couple he ignored us and started chatting and serving his mates. We walked out immediately. Cannot comment on the food as we didn't get that far by the bar looked very shoddy and uninviting. We won't be returning here.Hi Graham,I'm really sorry for your experience. As you can see from our reviews we are highly rated for our service, food and ambiance so my sincere apologies for what you say. If you can let me know what evening it was and I will investigate who was on shift as that shouldn't have occurred and hasn't before as we focus a lot on our guest service training so something went wrong on that occasion, apologies. We always take guests through to the restaurant and that would've happened. It's a shame that you didn't bring it to the manager's attention as we could've dealt with it then, all would've been resolved and you would've enjoyed our excellent food. I do disagree with your personal point though that the bar looked 'shoddy' and uninviting, I don't see how you can make that comment, most guests love this old 18th Century riverside mill and it's beams, flowers, cosiness, gardens and our range of beers, wines and local spirits is second to none. Are you local? I do hope that you return and please introduce yourself to me so we can help to correct your view. Many thanks, Ian
