Frequently referred to as a âhidden gemâ, The Cellar Bar is tucked away in the undercroft of an historic bank building and is a welcome surprise for anyone who walks through our doors. Behind the black Cellar door is a space that has been carefully curate
It's been open for a few months, but finally had a chance to slip in for coffee and cake. Higher Grounds is in the basement of the great little outdoor store: Escape Outdoors. Both est. are in a classic repurposed Bank of Nova Scotia building on the North Sydney waterfront, next to Marine Atlantic (ferry to NL). I confess a certain nostalgia for the building, where after a new bank was built the municipality operated the public library, a basement archive and historical museum. The café/pub is in the former bank's basement vaults. Low ceilings, lots of original brickwork. Really cool.I only had coffee and cake, and did some writing for an hour or so, but really appreciated it and will try to use it more often.

We came here for dinner on our last night in Sydney. It was during happy hour and we got to enjoy live entertainment while dining. I ordered one of the Greek specialties on the menu and was pleased. The entree came with a salad and flat bread as well as lemon potatoes. It was quite good and filling.

Came here for dinner while staying in Sydney. It was a Sunday night and the place was pretty busy. One of the first thing I noticed was that the -za on the sign over the door were out so it was just Boston Piz. The service was good, better than several other Boston Pizzas that I have visited, my server was friendly and chatty in a good way. The food was good, would definitely recommend.Hi, there! We are glad to see that you enjoyed the food and the service! We'll be sure to share your feedback about the Boston Pizza sign with our team. Hopefully, we can make your next visit a 5-star visit! See you again soon!

We were staying a couple of doors down at the Travelodge and spotted this place in the Hearthstone Inn. My husband is in a wheelchair so we're always checking out the main entrance of places to make sure we can get in. The place looked nice so we had the seafood chowder and veggie burger. Everything was delicious and hit the spot after a long day of travelling.
Walk into Cabot Shores Bistro, look out at the Bird Islands & enjoy: Local seafood, vegetarian & vegan meals, vegetables from our gardens & apples from our orchards, meats & homemade fresh pasta, local wines & "Big Spruce" craft beer, live music including
I am SO IMPRESSED!! Great local beer (Big Spruce's Kitchen Party Pale Ale for me) and THE BEST steak I have ever had. Honestly, crispy and real flame grilled on the outside, medium rare as requested on the inside. The vegetables were incredible, and the potatoes were delicious too. Worth every penny of the $32. Great thanks to Cabot Shores for a memorable meal!Thank you so much for your review , Penny. We really appreciate you taking the time out to share your experience with us. We are so happy that you loved our steak and local organic Big Spruce beer. Can't wait to have you back at GoBistro at Cabot Shores Wilderness Resort. Thank you again

Restaurant, bar and coffee shop. Glace Bay's place to Take a Load Off!
We were greeted and promptly brought to our table! The decor has changed and improved. The menu has also changed with the new cook. Our meals were tasty but we waited for a very l-o-n-g time to receive our meals! The waiter was very pleasant but he had so many tables to deal with. The hostess (owner I was told) could have poured the water, checked on other beverages, etc. but she did nothing but sit up front after seating people.Helping with the above would have allowed the pleasant server to deal with delivery food.

Quickly taken to our table with the menus coming right behind!Drink order was given and promptly brought to the table. We placed our food orders and the meals came very quickly. The fish and chips were great as was the clubhouse sandwich! The chicken curry was curry only in colour! The meal looked and tasted like SOUP! The waitress told me it would have a sharp curry taste. There was NO curry taste! I had to use a soup spoon to try and eat some of the meal. It was not enjoyable to eat that way! I should have complained about the worst curry I have ever eaten in a restaurant or anywhere!! I took the majority of the meal home. Much later in the evening, the liquid was absorbed by the rice and made it more pliable! So two people really enjoyed their meals while I lucked out at the restaurant food wise!!!

We live on the island, but we've been without Internet since Hurricane Dorian hit four days ago. The trouble is, we're telecommuters, so a day without Internet is a day without work or pay. The staff at The Old Triangle has been immensely gracious and permitted us to work from the snug, all the while keeping us supplied with food and hard cider. Thank you so much for your hospitality. You rock.

My daughter and I went for supper on our first night in town at Governor's based on a recommendation from the craft store owner (who happened to be married to the owner). Great food, staff and atmosphere. We went back for our last supper in Sydney and it matched our first experience.
