A traditional British pub serving a large home made menu, including daily specials and everything from a quick bite to eat to more substantial main course. A great selection of local real ales are available and have won us a place in CAMRA's Real Ale Guid
We came here for dinner on a Sunday evening, the Sunday roast was like school dinners, the meat didn't appear to be carved from a joint. The 'home made burger' was clearly a frozen mass produced burger, so disappointing, we didn't stick around for dessert. It's a bit like a massive dining room, no character at all, but having said that, it was very busy...I just don't know why.

What an absolute Gem this place is. Real food - like really amazing food - Real Drinks - what a selection of Beers, Real Ales, Spirits and Wines! - AND a Real atmosphere. Honestly cannot recommend this wonderful place highly enough in every area............. BUT I'll give you an example - having lived in Eastbourne for many years, we are moving away and we chose this place as the perfect venue for our final night in the town. It could not have been a more perfect ending.

Had an early dinner, so room to park beside pub. Plenty of rooms for diners and drinkers. Varied menu, supporting local farms and businesses, reasonable prices,. Harveys beer sold. Had gammon steak which was full of flavour, friend had ham, egg and chips. She declared the best melt in the mouth ham. The fish portion was large and fresh. Staff friendly.

The Farm is a beautiful pub with open fires and log burning stoves serving traditional hearty British food using the best seasonal ingredients available to us. We also offer a selection of well kept cask ales and a carefully chosen wine list most of which
On arrival was shown to our table. We were part of a party of 12. We were asked if we would like drinks but this was the only time we were offered this some of the group went to the bar to get their own half way though their meal, I personally do not think that this is a very good service at all. Most of the group was going to order a roast turkey but this was sold out but was told we can have beef. Only two small dishes of vegetables came out and put in the middle of the table which by the time it got to the end of the table there was nothing left. No one came to see if we needed anything else. just left to get on with it. Plus we did have a birthday cake which they gave us plates for and thank you for that but my husband really wanted a sweet before the cake but we were never presented with a menu so we did not bother. So overall the service was poor and I feel the price for the meal we had was fairly expensive for what we had, Do not think we will be back

This was our second visit to this great Village Pub and Restaurant albeit about a year apart. We were impressed last time but this experience proved even better and not just because of the recent refurbishment. Friendly, efficient and welcoming Staff served us with the most delicious Scampi, Chips, Peas and Tartar Sauce you could possibly wish for. This was followed by the nicest Apple Crumble and Ice Cream we have ever tasted. These two gems even featured on their excellent value for money Lunchtime Menus. If you enjoy good wholesome Food freshly and perfectly cooked to order in a lovely atmosphere - why not 'give them a go'. We strongly recommend that you do!

I dined at The Pilot recently with my Mum who had been here many times over the years and had always been pleased. The place was very busy and obviously popular with seemingly many regulars and their dogs so generally a nice atmosphere. However whether management has changed or whether we made a poor choice I donât know but the food was overpriced and absolutely awful. We both chose the: Locally Sourced Dover SoleA La Meuniere - grilled dover sole in a butter, lemon & parsley sauce served with garlic & herb roasted baby potatoes, locally sourced samphire & charred lemon. The bar lady said âoh niceâ and we had good expectations. What arrived looked more like a small plaice and was over cooked, dry and rubbery, there was no sign of any sauce and no flavour to anything. The whole meal was piping hot and tasted as though it had just been re-heated in the microwave. There was generally no freshness about anything on the plate, the potatoes were over cooked and the samphire was tough and stringy. The staff were all very pleasant, I should have asked to return the food but my mother is elderly and I didnât want to upset her by making a fuss but clearly the kitchen staff have no pride in sending out food like that.Generally it reminded me of being a teenager and returning home late to find a dried up dinner which has been left in the oven too long before sticking it in the microwave to warm it up.It hurt me to have to pay for food which was over-priced and should have been thrown out rather than served to customers.Hello,Sorry to read your review & how disappointed you were. You note that you had dined with us several times before & had enjoyed your food on each occasion so why head line the review "Dreadful Food" as if that is all we chose to serve ! You also state you were asked if everything was alright & chose to say nothing because of your mother, but to be quite honest if you were that dissatisfied then this was the time to make your feelings felt or what is the point of us asking? If we had not asked, you would of no doubt condemned us for that too.. The head chef & kitchen staff pride themselves on the quality and presentation of each dish so i am very surprised at your over all comments and it does tend to fly in the face of our reviews in general. We are one of the biggest purchaser of fresh fish in the town & have a growing reputation for the quality and standard but if you had a bad experience we apologise but promise you we DO NOT go about our day re-heating fish or trying to sell over priced products, We are however all very pleased that you can remember your teenage years, very impressive.

We visited Eastbourne on a Sunday, with friends and family. None of us knew about the Air Show... We arrived at lunchtime, hungry and tired, and found the promenade crowded, a flood of people and noisy cheer. What a surprise! We immediately noticed this beautiful pub, with a facade full of colourful flowers and an inviting look. Despite the crowd, they welcomed us with warmth and friendly availability and immediately put together a table for us (9 in all, including our beloved little dog). It would have been enough, given the "difficult" day... And instead we were all enchanted by the quality of the food and the exquisiteness of the dishes that were served to us (with excellent professionalism and courtesy) in a very short time! Absolutely excellent! I would like to mention the sharing platters, all very greedy, but if you like cheese don't miss the cheese board & wine! And, for the sake of everyone, the home-made burgers, we tried several and all were equally fabulous! If we ever go back to Eastbourne, this would be the first stop!

This pub was recommended to us by the B&B owners where we staying. It was a Saturday evening on Firework procession night but we found a table. The pub is quite big and goes right the way back where there is a conservatory. You order at the bar and there is an expansive menu. I had cod and chips, husband had plaice. Good portions nice light batter and we didnât wait too long.Really yummy puds too. Not too pricey. Would use again.
