Whilst staying at the Sheldon Park Hotel and fancying a drink and bite to eat at a locals pub we found The cottage Inn, just a five minute walk, around the corner. The food menu was varied, including some specials, and when they arrived were hearty and hit the spot. (Try the fish and chips and chocolate fudge cake)The landlord was welcoming and friendly. Enjoy!

Had a family dinner there, first time in Lucan. The interiors were very impressive inside, so we thought the food was going to be even better. However, we were slightly disappointed with just an average taste. Could be better but could be worse. I'd give it 6/10. Great service though!

GUNPOWDER Bar & Grill

In 1787, a Clondalkin Gunpowder Mill exploded. (Rumour has it the explosion was caused by a fist fight between two lads over a woman called Maura). Shocks were felt as far away as Dublin City Centre: buildings crumbled, windows shattered, and Clondalkin’s

Was looking forward to visiting GunPowder with some relations. The service was not great with a long wait on the food to arrive and the staff didn't seem to know what was going on between them. The food was just okay. The wings arrived with chips mixed through one bowl and someone else's had barely any sauce on them. The burger was just okay and not very tasty. Was let down with the visit and seems like room for improvement. Thanks for taking the time to leave a review Yogmart. Not sure what happened with your wings order on this occasion as they're one of most popular dishes. We've a new manager starting this week and we will take your comments on board. Hopefully you will come back for a visit shortly. Regards, The GUNPOWDER team.

I dropped in to this neighbourhood pub at lunchtime today while waiting for a job to be done on my car nearby. It is quite a large facility and it was busy with local teachers and business people who come here for lunch on a regular basis. I was served by Laura, a personable and efficient young lady who looked after me very well. Thank you, Laura! It is a large but comfortable space and I was able to work on my computer in peace and quiet after my request to have the piped music turned down was acted upon. The Cappuccino I had was better than usual and served with a double shot of Espresso as requested I hope to visit in the not-too-distant future.

We viisited the Laurels in Clondalkin on a Monday night last week.We ordered our drinks as usual and sat down. The next thing a choir started practising .They blew us away with the noise. We had to move twice to see if we could find a place away from them.We had to leave without ordering our food.We did complain and i sent an email to the group head office. We only go there for our food and drinks ,therefore if we had known this was going to happen we would not have visited. We are regular visitors of Palmerstown House and the Laurels. We are so disappointed with the email i received back from The Manager.I also called to the head office and still nothing resolved re my 10.90 for 1 guinness and 1 white wine.We should not have spent this money without our food as we are retired and have to be very careful how we spend our finances.I would think a gesture should have been made by the Manager.Looks like he really is not interested in the customers.Take it or leave it..How disappointing Louis Fitzgerald normally runs a very customer friendly service.

Ate here for the first time. Initially it was all good, i liked the decor and atmosphere. Front desk staff told us to wait at the bar until we are called. This was purely to get us to buy a drink as there was plenty of free tables. Annoying but they are not the only place to do this so not a deal breaker. After a 10 minute wait we were seated. Ordered a starter of chicken tenders and it was really nice. We were excited for the mains. Unfortunately that's were things went down hill. People who had arrived at a similar time got their mains and left when we were still waiting on ours to arrive. After over half an hour after our starters plates were collected we asked a waitress what was the delay. No response she walked to the kitchen. About 10 minutes later a manager returned with the two mains and said the kitchen was busy hence the delay. This was clearly not the case as it worked just fine for those sitting around us. The food was nice but we won't be back.Hi AnthonyThank you for your review. I’m sorry to hear of your disappointment. We are a family owned, cook to order restaurant. Only serving freshly cooked food. As a result of this sometimes we do have to have a waiting list in order for our kitchen to stay on top of things. We would never purposely have people wait at the bar in order to buy a drink - we are busy enough without this. If you had seen empty tables these were perhaps pre booked or left idle in order to allow the kitchen to catch up. Due to our location beside the cinema we can sometimes get 20 even 30 tables in at the exact same time and this can cause delays.I do apologise if this wasn’t explained to you at the time. With no time or date of attendance I can’t explain fully as to why people around you were served first but there are a couple of possibilities - a dish with a quicker cooking time eg: Fish & Chips - some of our dishes take 20/25 mins to cook- a staff member forgot to call a table awayThese are just a few examples of how things can be delayed.I can only apologise for this and hope that we may see you again in the future as we would never intentionally set out to upset any of our customers.
