Wet couple of days, visiting "places". What we needed was a comfortable, friendly place to eat with matching food. This ticked the boxes. Both the bar and dining room were un-fussy but obviously old, the food was good and unpretentious, the service good but unobtrusive. If we are there, we will go again.

Independently owned, the Maytime Inn is located in the heart of the beautiful, peaceful and historic Cotswold village of Asthall. Ideally positioned for exploring the Cotswolds, next to the River Windrush and a short drive to Oxford and London. The Maytim

Recently taken over and under new management. We are now a family run local pub, serving traditional pub grub, alongside our full restaurant menu. We have a good selection of real ales, beer and wine. And welcome all who walk through our doors, including
Visited late on a Sunday service but was still welcomed in and had quite possibly the best Sunday Roast Iâve had (I hope the wife doesnât read this!).Great portion size, even the kids one was big, meat was fantastic (we had a Pork and a couple of Lamb) and everything was cooked to perfection. The vegetables had the right amount for crunch and nothing soggy to be seen. And donât even get me started on the Yorkshire puddings!!The only downside was that my belly, and trousers, wouldnât allow me the room for a dessert.10/10 from me

Getting lost in the Cotswolds is a wonderful adventure. We ended up in Shilton Village by chance and decided to unwind in the Shilton Rose and Crown. I've got to get lost more often as the Rose & Crown proved to be a brilliant pub. We decided to make our late lunch an early dinner as the menu as well as the ale selection was so tempting. Steak & ale pie for me and roast beef ciabatta for she. Excellent ale and good wine accompanied our meals and we settled in so comfortably we did not want to leave. The interior is as pleasant as can be found anywhere. Staff are outstanding and made for a memorable and enjoyable stopover. Thank you all.Thank you for your wonderful review, you obviously fully understood what we are trying to achieve, and have taken the trouble to share your experience with others. You also highlight our staff, who are a small but highly dedicated team. Thank you. Martin Coldicott

A quirky venue serving an ever changing range of craft ales. There is also a quality lager if you are that way inclined. A good range of unusual spirits. Food available cooked by a crearive chef. Staff very friendly and have a good knowledge of the drinks range.

The Windrush Inn uses fresh, locally sourced produce where ever possible, ideally buying directly from the producer, therefore offering our customerâs wholesome tasty food which they can be confident in, not only the origins of that food but also in the f
