Reviews on Pub food in Cape Town Central, Western Cape, South Africa. Cape Town glistens at the southern toe of the African continent. Tourist brochure-views at Blaauwberg Beach and Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens are within easy driving distance of "The Mother City." The Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve provides sweeping sea vistas, hiking trails and wildlife encounters. On a more somber note, travelers can visit Robben Island, the prison where Nelson Mandela was held for 27 years.

I recently stayed at the Hippo Boutique Hotel in Capetown. Our breakfasts were included at Jerryâs restaurant next door. Wow! The breakfasts were huge! Ample portions of eggs, bacon, tomatoes, mushrooms and toast. Americano coffee with warm milk was heavenly. We later returned for a burger and they were over the top! Such friendly smiles and great service. A must to visit.

We looked for a place to watch the Australian Grand Prix scheduled for 07:00hrs. It was full of other GP enthusiasts. There are many big screens and plenty of seating. We did not book in advance but did phone to check beforehand, as we saw that they are not normally open on a Sunday. They opened especially for the GP. Most people ordered drinks (all kinds from coffee to beers) but few had breakfast. There were some children too. Service was very friendly!Apparently on days like that they only serve a 'Regular breakfast', which my husband and I both had. It was perfectly hearty breakfast on that rainy, misty morning. We both enjoyed it.Parking across the road was safe, with a car guard, behind a fence. As we left, they closed up shop again.
