This is a sort of grubby spot, I admit, just off I-5. A real tavern with some ehhhhh pool tables and NFL games on every Sunday, darts, and a decent selection of beer and other beverages. The reason to go, though, is the food. Burgers, seafood and sandwiches are all tasty and well prepared.

We go here to escape the racket of our cleaning ladies vacuum.I usually have one of their specialties , not just bacon and eggs, Hippie Hash most recently.Never seems to be crowded, but it opens a little later, 8am, than most brecky joints.Over 21 yoa due to underlying tavern license.

The Corner Pub is a friendly road house serving beer, wine, and cocktails inside the bar and outside in the backyard with views of Mount Baker and the Skagit farmlands. Enjoy our horseshoe pit, darts, and live music on Thursdays and some Saturdays. Classi
I've been there a half dozen times, had something different to eat every time. This time it was a chorizo omelette since I was there around breakfast. Had burger the other times. The staff are friendly, the remodeling project made it a much nicer place to hang out (it was really dark before), and the food comes quickly, is reasonably priced, and good to eat. When the weather is nice the back is a great place to sit, drink beer and eat your lunch.

So, what did they do last Friday? I'll tell ya! They, the Washington Walkers, a motley crew of wild old gals if ever there was one, decided that their lives were too sedate of late, what with virtual "house arrest" for most of us, due to horrendous smoke from forest fires all around. At last, a break in this misery occurred last Friday, and OFF WE WENT---like chickens exploding from the coop after a month inside, because of bad weather! We could hardly contain our glee---bursting through the doors at the LONGHORN SALOON & GRILL, like a rangy-tang gang of wild women in some B-Western, we bellied-up to the first table and set ourselves down. Might as well have pounded the table to demand service, but, thanks to seasoned staffers, no pounding was necessary! A sweet young thing showed up to toss every woman present a menu and scribble down what each gal wanted to wet her whistle with. My libation? A CIDER---and guess what? They had a really good cider ON TAP!!!! That I ordered, along with a TURKEY-Avocado BLT sandwich on Breadfarm sourdough. I forgot about the mound of match-stick french fires they serve along with their sandwiches. Those fries, though very thin, where perfect---they tasted so good I ate every last one--and paid for it later when I weighed myself the next morning---up 2 lbs!!!!! YIKES!!!!! I should have ordered a salad. Even potato salad might have been less fattening, though probably not better tasting. The sandwich was humungous! With real turkey--not store-bought thin sliced "turkey" with more salt than real flavor in it. NOPE! This turkey was the real-deal, all right--only suggestion from yours-truly would be to serve that turkey warmed up---it had obviously been roasted but then then refrigerated for future use. It was cold---like a corpse in a morgue. (I once worked in a teaching hospital--I know about morgues.) So, the turkey was OK but not great, because it was stone-cold. The avocado was OK, but too far gone--a bit mushy. The cider was good. The service was no-nonsence, but when our order-slips came with the price for what each of us had ordered, everything was accurate. The young woman who served our table was efficient, and matter-of-fact. She may have had better days. If I were her, though, I would have either LOVED our group for being so goofy and jolly, or I would have wished we'd all just go away! Our server was not having her best day when we arrived. We may not have enhanced her life by being there. I regret that. Young people work hard enough to pay for rent, school loans, children, and other expenses these days. I lived in some very scary places at her age, doing really hard work to pay for my own education back in the 1960's. So, I know.In any case, the lONGHORN has some great PUB-GRUB. The ambiance is typical of roadhouses in this part of the world. Motorcycle clubs like to roll into Edison just for the LONGHORN, I hear tell. (I used to be a Biker-Mamma way back when, decorating a seat on a Royal Enfield with a magnificent front fearing and sissy bar and highway pegs....oh, yes, and the Road Captain of a biker-club driving the damn thing!)So, LONGHORN BAR & GRILL---thanks for a biker-mamma's saunter down memory lane. "Big Lou" would have loved this place!!!! As did all the wild women I came with!

On our way to Vancouver from SEA-TAC and hoping for fresh local oysters, preferably of the raw variety. There were Oyster Shooters available on the drinks menu but our server Alexa explained their kitchen was too small for the shucking process and offered fried oysters instead. We opted for their Oyster Shooter with vodka (at extra cost) and it was yummy with a large and plump oyster. We enjoyed our luncheon choices outside in their back patio as it was a lovely sunny day. This restaurant is in an off the highway small town and on the corner with limited parking space, however we found a spot on one of the side streets right close to the restaurant that worked out well.
