On a early Friday evening this bar/eatery fit the bill. It is a long , narrow bar with great satellite music and sports centered televisions. The booths are great for a group but a little snug . We chose beverages from the expansive drink menus, dined on tater tots, Brussel sprouts, Scotch eggs and a variety of sliders. We were stuffed ! A delightfully inexpensive fun dinner.

Grand Openiing was this past Tuesday. Very nice place and up-scale from most breweries in the area.
We like Granite City a lot and dine there at least once every time we vacation in the Detroit area. The comfortable, family-friendly vibe of the place and the dependably good food and service are complimented by a fine selection of beers. (I find it hard to make up my mind, so I usually buy a flight.) I'd like to put in a good word for Granite City's Bavarian pretzel appetizer ($7.99). It's absolutely delicious and plenty big enough to share. Our most recent visit to this restaurant was for the specific purpose of enjoying this treat; we didn't even order an entree. BTW, at busy times the noise level in this place can be annoyingly high for diners who want to chat.

I am so disappointed. The last time I was here it was great. This time it was not. First, they no longer provide parking, and the adjacent structure charges $3.50 per hour. (Rip-off Birmingham). If you pay them $3 they will sell you a parking lot token., I will not be back just for this reason. My $14 lunch portion of fish and chips were underwhelming. The batter on my two small piece of fish was not fully cooked so it was mushy. To be fair, the French fries were excellent. Cole slaw was just so so. And it was very pricey at $14. My colleague had the chicken parmesean sandwich which he enjoyed. I know they can do better, but I won't be around to see it. Too many better options at this price point. Ciao Triple Nickel.

Came here with some friends during a business trip. There is a Dow Jones stock exchange theme which was cool as you actually see beer prices go down and the food was very good. Service was very good.

Although burgers are their speciality, they also do a good job with appetizers, drinks and salads. The toppings for burgers are limitless. The fries leave much to be desired, but become passable when eating late and /or while drinking. Servers are fast, efficient and friendly.

We went back twice when we were in Detroit. The service staff were very obliging and the menu had good basic choices. Be aware however that this is a cigar lounge and smoking is not only allowed it is indulged. That said the ventilation is top notch.

I went to Griffin Claw last weekend and was so impressed. This is a restaurant with an on-site brewery. The selection of their beers was very good. There were about 20 listed on the menu, including wheat, IPA, lager, pilsner, stout and ciders. I had 2 flights (8 small glasses) and a burger and fries. Some of the beers were outstanding, and a some just OK. The burger was delicious and cooked to order. Seating is Oktoberfest style - lots of large tables and an outdoor section. It was a very relaxed setting. I will definitely return during our next visit to the Detroit area.
