The Idle Hour is a modern, beach side take on a German beer garden. But, instead of Schnitzel, we serve the best burgers on the beach along with other beach bites such as fish tacos. We do have an excellent selection of German beers on draft, but we also
Tried it for the first time with the kids today and will definitely be back!! Had a variety of menu samplings to share and loved them all! The location is stellar, service prompt and attentive, the patio with fire pits, picnic tables and Sand floor make for a fantastic beach meal!!!

Sugarloaf Island Deli and Yellowfin Pub are located next to Sanitary Fish Market and Restaurant right on the Morehead City Waterfront. We offer the finest meats and cheese, fresh & local produce, and cold beers & delicious cocktails with a view.
When the weather is nice its hard to beat the view from the upper deck. You can see unobstructed right across Sugarloaf Island and all the way across the sound. The menu has some fun choices, most recently we had the Tuna Poke Nachos and Soft Shell Crab Sandwich, both excellent - the fresh fish selections are generally excellent, though the fish tacos would be better with the tortilla seeing just a little heat before serving. The service staff are mostly experienced and attentive. It can get crowded on nice weekend days, but that's to be expected. You can also come by boat, tying up a the dock outside the Sanitary - Painkillers are good too!Hi 881edgarw, we are happy to hear that you enjoyed your experience! We strive to be the best we can be, and it makes us happy to see that our efforts are paying off. We hope that you will come back again soon!

I ate here during the Blues & Bites event with friends. Parking is a bit tricky, but there are lots of places to sit inside and stand outside in the two-story building. The staff is friendly. They have brick-oven pizza available out front. It has a nice thin crust.

Iâve had some great fish tacos from various islands and coasts. The fish tacos from Off the Hook held their own! Ate at the bar and was greeted by friendly female bartender and friendly local patrons. Check it out! Youâll be glad you did!

When we first visited two years ago we were impressed with the quality of the food, the service, and the guest beers being served. We wanted to pay a return visit to see how they do with brewing beer. It's a good thing we waited two years to return, because the permit process took a very long time. We tried a sampler of their beers; we chose the beers to try. Of the six beers 5 were outstanding, one not so much. The ones we liked best were the Red Drum Amber, Blackfin Porter, and the Peach Bum. The food and service were once again excellent. Tight Lines will be a place we visit regularly when we are in the area. It is well worth a visit.

Visited with my daughter, friends and her family. We went in and immediately sat down gathering chairs and tables together. The minutes following we began discussing the food with the cook mostly about the type of hot dogs. He without any gloves took out a hot dog and showed us the type then replaced it back in the container. We ordered and shortly after that the cook started talking to a customer at the bar being very loud, rude and using vulgar language and we had a child 6 years old but he didn't seem to care. Finally we received the remaining of our meals and then the cook loudly announced that he was going to go to have a smoke. Before he could get from around the counter another large group entered and he instantly said some very unkind vulgar word and told them that he was going for a smoke and find somewhere to sit, play some games, do something I am going for a smoke. When he returned he came straight back in and never washed his hands but went right back to cooking. The food itself was ok but nothing to write much about, I was not impressed and have had much better at other places. The rudeness and vulgar language of the cook was completely out of order and I will not be visiting there again if for no other reason then the staff.

Pub with beer and wine. Food options are limited to snack size chips and popcorn.
This is a very small, quaint pub and I love to go here during the winter months when the fireplace has a fire going. This reminds me of an English pub from the mid-17th century. The ceiling is low and cozy, and there are only a few tables and stools around the bar. But I like the quiet ambiance and cozy feel. During the warmer months, more people are there, and we spill out onto patio.
