In Manhattan in 1965, there was no place where people could go out to meet friends and make new ones in an environment that was at once both relaxed and yet exciting. Then, Alan Stillman opened Fridays as a way, he said, "to meet Pan Am stewardesses." Sud
What Can I say that hasnât been said? Itâs TGIFridays. They are the same everywhere you go, and thatâs GOOD! No matter where I go Iâll know what Iâll get in there. Food is good, atmosphere is fun, drinks are usually good... sometimes the service varies, but in this location it was great. Iâll go back again.

Chili's is making a statement in the Chicago area with 30 locations--but none within the city limits. Why successful fast-food or casual dining restaurant chains such as Chili's and Olive Garden and Ruby Tuesday and Bob Evans and Checkers and Steak 'n Shake don't venture into the city is baffling to me. But my wife and I go to the suburbs to find Chili's, like the location at 1290 Orchard Road in Aurora. Founded in 1975, Texas-based Chili's has established its unique Tex/Mex theme at over 1,600 locations worldwide. If you like Cajun, Chili's will satisfy your taste. If you prefer something less sizzling, Chili's can accommodate you. Whatever you choose, it likely can't be found on any other menu. That's the thing about Chili's. It's good food--and it's different, too. No shrimp cocktail here. No Caesar salad. No creme brulee. No spaghetti and meatballs. For starters, we often choose baked potato soup and Southwest chicken soup and Southwest egg rolls and boneless wings. We're not into enchiladas or quesadillas or fajitas or burritos or tacos. But Chili's still offers plenty of options to satisfy our empty stomachs. How about original BBQ baby back ribs or Atlantic salmon with rice and steamed broccoli or Mango-Chili tilapia or a Southern Smokehouse sandwich (grass-fed hamburger patty, four slices of Applewood smoked bacon, melted cheddar cheese, garlic dill pickle, onion rings, lettuce, tomato and Chili's signature sauce) or the Old-Timer with Cheese (hand-crafted beef patty topped with garlic dill pickle, lettuce, tomato, red onions and mustard). And, of course, a bowl of chili. For dessert, we shared orders of Oreo topped Molten cake and triple berry crumble cake. There are a lot of fast-food and casual dining restaurants but Chlli's has established its own identity in the very competitive market.

Leland Legends is located on the ground floor of Aurora's famous - and infamous Leland Hotel that was built in the 1920's.The Pub and Grill is charming, offers live music on the weekends and serves delicious, affordable fare. The menu is varied and everything we have eaten has been outstanding. My personal favorite is the shrimp tacos. Delicately seasoned shrimp is done to perfection, topped with pico, red cabbage and a drizzle to die for. While you are waiting for your food to arrive, read the place mats. They tell the story of famous guests at the Leland in years gone by. We learned about Al Capone, Sally Rand and Gene Autry. I can't wait to go back again and try something else on the menu - if I can keep from ordering my favorite shrimp tacos!

Spartan House is a proud member of the Aurora community, and we strive to be the premier eatery and gathering place in the area.
We frequent the Spartan house for lunch and dinner. Outstanding food and service! We had tried the breakfast when they first started serving it. It was a fine standard breakfast. Upon returning for another breakfast, we were pleasantly surprised to find an outstanding breakfast! The omelets had the standard choices, or you could build your own. They were loaded with fresh ingredients! The skillets also had standard choices, or build your own. We got a side of the biscuits and gravy...also an excellent surprise. Service, as always, was excellent! We were lucky enough to meet one of the owners, Ron. He was personable and gracious! Do yourself a favor...try breakfast at the Spartan House! Or any meal!

My wife & I came here on a Saturday afternoon because we happened to be in the area & always willing to try new places. Walked in and very few people, yet no one to greet us & seat us. Bartender finally did so. Server had no personality whatsoever. We decided to try a couple of flights of their beer and ordered food. Good assortment of brews & food was good but pricey ($15 for a burger & fries!) We tried...hopefully you'll have a better experience.

After touring FermiLab about three miles away, we landed here mostly because my best buddy enjoys beer and appreciates a broad range of choices. Watch out because the restaurant is in a very long strip mall with few entrances. You can easily miss one and overshoot. Limited parking out front is shared with other venues in the mall but there's more parking around back. My buddy ordered an Alaskan ale he'd previously consumed at the Alaska brewery (!) and a Cuban sandwich. I got their Hickory Bacon BBQ burger and a diet cola. We use these Buddy Day lunches as time to catch up with each other's lives once a month and this lunch was no exception. The waiter was patient and gave us the time we needed on both ends of actually eating. Even though I ate my burger upside down (the proper way to prevent the bottom of the bun from disintegrating from natural juices and toppings), my burger was so moist that juices still dripped onto the plate. The bacon was crisp and the onion strings on the sandwich provided extra flavor. I was served extra BBQ sauce on the side which I used for fry dipping. The amount of fries was mediocre. I almost swapped in onion rings for an extra $1.50 but was glad I didn't, expecting I'd have only gotten a few. BTW, their onion ring side dishes (small and large) are not on the menu! Our waiter provided two bills (very nice) and refilled my soft drink twice without being prompted (which says his customer radar was working well). I'd go back and maybe try the onion rings instead of those fries.

We like to know what we're eating and where it comes from and we're bringing that philosophy to Gillerson's Grubbery. Here's what you should know about us...we don't believe in fancy or fussy. We cook food you love and recognize, food you pick up, knowing
We had a wonderful experience at this restaurant/bar. My husband and I both had the "create your own" chicken sandwich. The chicken was very tender and delicious. The ingredients are high quality with very nice size portions. The fries and tater tots were delicious sides. They have an extensive listing of craft beers and the wine was also high quality at a reasonable price. I would highly recommend this restaurant. The owners came over to check on patrons which I thought was a great touch. Service was also very friendly, helpful and welcoming. A must try!

We went to Ballydoyle recently on a Saturday night to hear a local band. They have a nice venue, with a large stage and a decent dancefloor. And the acoustics were good. They do have a cover charge when the bands are playing. Our server was very friendly and attentive. The drinks were reasonably priced (better than I expected). There were lots of TV's to watch the games. We'll be back next time the band is there

I have visited Two Brothers Roundhouse on several occasions recently, hoping that the food would improve. It is a great space in an historic building. Alas, the food has gotten worse and this is a shame. The last entree I had there (fish) was pathetic. It was worse than high school cafeteria food. And, my wife's selection (pasta) was only slightly better, but still well below acceptable. And the beer, though good, was barely chilled. The appetizers have tended to be slightly better but the point is why is the food so bad and why can they not get this right?! I realize that Aurora is not the gastronomical center of the universe, but there is no excuse for poorly prepared, unappetizing food. We have noticed that fewer people seem to be in the restaurant each time we have been there, usually always at dinnertime. Finally, the wait staff do not seem to be well trained. On two occasions, they were not familiar with several items on the menu. I certainly will not be going back for another bad meal.
