Visited in the early afternoon after bypassing the more 'tourist' focussed restaurant on the quay. Drawn in by the views and the fresh fish display in the entrance, we weren't disappointed. The service was most friendly and accommodating (although not particularly busy). Complimentary bread and goats cheese were presented, which was the low-point, as neither were particularly tasty. That aside, what followed, in the way of swordfish and grey triggerfish, coul not have been more tasty and fulfilling. Top marks. Maybe worth visiting at quiet times in-lieu of other reviews on here.
A little off the beaten path, looks like a little snack bar hole in the wall but the food is amazing! The server was excellent in selecting entrees- two dishes we wouldnât have chosen otherwise but LOVED. Prices were great. View is worth $1000,000 if you eat outdoors.

Had Sunday lunch here and the spot canât be beat. Right on the coast you have a great view of the water and while dining can dodge any rain by sitting under the umbrella or cover. Get the grilled fish special comes with potato and salad bar great service wonderful relaxed vibe

Definitely becoming a regular lunchtime favourite in Sao Miguel for us.Good food, good value and staffed by friendly English-speaking people all performing under the owner's eyes.Comprehensive menu with full bar service. Well patronised by locals and tourists alike.Highly recommended to all. I am vegetarian and the bar caters for my type of diner well.Thank you Joao for the last couple of visits in the last week. A tè logo.

We were told this is recently opened. It is like a wedding marquee. We were the only customers during our visit. Very friendly service. The steak skewer was great. Two servings of sardines could have satisfied four people. My tuna was large and overcooked sadly. They served the red wine that has become our favourite this trip.

Ate here twice during a weeklong stay on Sao Miguel. My boyfriend and I were in search of Francesinhas on the island and found them here after taking the nearby ferry to the Vila Franca do Campo islet earlier that day. This place has a very chill, homey vibe as it is the snack bar for the firefighters of Vila Franca do Campo, but open to the public as well. It is no frills in the best way. Both times we went, there was at least one waiter who spoke English. We had the mini Francesinha and the mini azoresinha and they were soooooo tasty that we had to go back again before we left. We also had cheap draft beers and a graciosa tart for dessert - yum! They always had the World Cup games on TV which was perfect. For two sandwiches with fries, beers and dessert (all split between 2 people) our bill was 20 euros. Cannot recommend this place enough, I enjoyed the local feel, friendly service, and supporting the firefighters!

The nearest restaurant to our BnB in Garca turned into the best culinary surprise of our trip so far. Barely noticeable from the narrow road through town this family run restaurant uses all local ingredients and prepares all meals frelsh from scratch. The portions were large enough for a leftover meal. the next day. The father cooked, momma cooked and son served. We enjoyed a variety of fish, potatoes, vegetables and salad, refreshments and some great desserts for less than 50 Euros. If you are in the area it is worth a try.

Restaurante & Grill. Cozinha Tradicional Contemporânea baseado em grelhados onde a especialidade da casa é o Naco de Atum com Chautney de Ananás e Vinho de Porto
Went there twice during our holiday and both times had exceptional food and enjoyed great service. The tuna was perhaps the best I have ever had. It was absolutely delicious. The octopus was fantastic. The sea bream was grilled to perfection and the queijada (sourced from the famous shop right around the corner) with ice cream was delicious. We also tried the creme brulee which was creamy and tasty. Also a positive note to the local cheese starter and the fresh bread. I would strongly recommend anyone that visits the Azores to stop by for a meal. You won't be disappointed. Make sure you book in advance a table in the first row of the terrace so you can enjoy not just a great meal but also a great view.

The Restaurant Praia Cafe had a wonderful view over the sea. It offers a cozy kitchen with local products and the fish is our house specialty. From June to September you can have our meals and drink one of the ten top gins of the world enjoying the best m
Sitting on the terrace overlooking the beach we had a couple of burgers, swordfish and the aubergine mille feulle (one of the few vegetarian dishes). Fish and burgers entitled to free starter which include lovely brioche type sweet bread with goats cheese and a super delicious jam (mix of apricot and honey). All food reasonably priced and delicious. Not sure about other times but on the August bank holiday we got by chance one of the few non-reserved tables at 12:00; so making a reservation would seem like a good idea. Muito obrigada pelo seu comentário! A opinião de quem nos visita é sempre muito importante para nós. Esperamos poder voltar a contar contar com a sua visita. Até breve!

We had several times dinner in this fancy restaurant. The menu card is an iPad,You can choose yourself the language. Every evening there are different choices for fish and shellfish, meat (pork, lamb, beef, goat and even rabbit) and even a good choice in vegetarian dishes. You make your choices and this is directly send to the kitchen. Service was amicable and quick but with poor English knowledge. All the dishes we tried were at least as good as expected, the rabbit is a real recommendation.
