Things to do in Redondo
The ladies shared a massive Russan Salad with tuna and the boys had an equally generous migas a Alentejano. None of us was able to finish the dishes as we did have to save a little space for dessert. Centrally situated and good value for money.
Order at the counter when you walk in, choose your table, and get served. You may want to sit away from the door to the outdoor dining as smoke comes in from outside each time the door is opened. We had burgers, salads, and pasta. Everything was very good.
This restaurant is the best choice in Redondo. here you can experience real authentic dishes from this region followed by great wine choices. The people behind the scenes, Roberto and Ines are the most pure people you can find, always ready to, not only surprise your taste as well to give you fantastic inputs about this Region in Portugal and its lifestyle.200% recommendable!!!

We were just passing through town at lunchtime (maybe a bit late) and spotted this restaurant. It was open and crowded with locals. So we stayed for lunch. The owner couple didn't speak a lot of English, but communicated the chalk-board menu well. The menu items come in large and half sizes. Were were two couples and each split a large dish. Our friends ordered lamb stew and we ordered a chickpea stew. Both dishes were tasty and hearty, great flavors. Just what we needed.

typical restaurant, with very old architecture, cuisine traditional Alentejo, with the best wine region of Portugal
In the attractive town of Redondo steeped in history is this excellent restaurant serving simple well cooked food in a quaint atmospheric setting of times past. The young owner is dedicated to meeting his patrons needs and is the regular haunt of locals and the lawyers and judges from the handsome court building opposite as well as the passing tourist. His wife helps behind the scenes when the needs of her young children permit, while Mama produces superb meals which are proudly placed on the table. This is rural Portugal at its best and is on our 'must visit' list on our next trip

We went two times as only 5 minutes walking from Agua DâAlte . The food is great and very simple. The owner, wife and daughters all at the restaurant are very kind Very simple decoration but original with old dinning dishware, forks, knifes , etc in the wall like canvases.

I would never expect to find such a lovely place in a small town! The atmosphere is very tipical, the place is calm and cozy, the service is very good and the local food is fantastic. I suggest people taste the local black pork!

Aside from such a charming village, Porfirio's is well worth visiting. The town was quiet and didn't have any tourists on the Saturday we were there. Restaurant was empty but that's a result of our timing and not the service or food. It should be a destination restaurant when touring the countryside. Family owned with amazing food and quality authentic delicious Alentejo food. We all commented about how we want to return and bring others to have the wonderful experience we encountered. The owner husband and wife chef's were so kind and friendly. It was one of the best part of our one night road trip from Lisboa. The New York Times has also mentioned this restaurant in an article of Alentejo. Making it all the more interesting. Highly recommend!

Another good Alentejo restaurant. Good quality local products, well confectioned, traditional recipes (it's the way their great-granmother's did it, they way their granmother's did it, the way their mother's did it, and it works!) and a pleasant unpretentious atmosphere. There's a small patio in back, open if the weather is nice. I had the monkfish açorda which was very good (the garlic, cilantro and monkfish broth, with olive oil, and bread â on the side), there's also good quality cheese and pork salpicão (cured meat) as appetizer, and of course, great bread. Nice, not pricey at all, wines. Friendly service. Great quality/price ratio.

It was a lovely evening! Bernardino is lovely and very kind! Try the porco preto and particularly the liver of porco preto. You will be at the edge of heaven! They also have a good selection of wines and an amazing dessert. I wish I could visit this restaurant more often! Obrigado Bernardino
