Home Cooked Portuguese Pastries, Bar Foods & Fresh Traditional Meals. Portuguese Beer, Wines, Spirits, Coffee, Cakes & Soft Drinks with Portuguese Music in a great atmosphere!
The Cork and Tile is a cosy little restaurant in Gandy Street, and its simple white decor suggests authenticity. The extensive menu offers a wide choice of main dishes, but we went for the tapas style dishes, which allowed us to sample, then have a break before trying some more. We tried prawn croquettes, clams in white wine, black eyed peas, before the break, followed by very tasty beef and sausage in beer, timbale of cod, and cold mussels. These were large green lipped variety, which were attractive on the menu, but a little chewy in reality. The wine list is in keeping with the food menu, and we enjoyed our Aveleda Vinho Verde, and a delicious Emulinda 14% red. The service was friendly and the delivery timing was just right. All in all we had an enjoyable evening.
