We set off one Sunday for lunch in another restaurant, which turned out to be fully booked; we found Pedra Alta on the way back home.. We greatly enjoyed the restaurant, where the ample quantities of food, served by cheerful Portuguese waiters served the many family groups who had waited to find a table. It was a pleasure to see the family Sunday outings, enjoying the huge platters of seafood.

A group of friends choose this restaurant for dinner. I am Portuguese and was curious to try. Service is very friendly, the restaurant is small so there is only one person attending all the tables. We had main meals. Everyone was very happy with their dishes. I had the octopus which was very tasty. The food was good, Portuguese inspired but elevated, not like most Portuguese restaurant which serve moreSimple dishes. I thought the price for the octopus was high at 29eur. Other dishes are more reasonable though. We also had an excellent wine and again the price tag at 40 eur for a Portuguese wine even if lovely as a little high I thought. But overall enjoyable experience and a change to see Portuguese food with a refined twist.

I've traveled Europe enough to know true authentic regional cooking; this restaurant does not give Portugal cooking a good image.Positive points: table wine was goodCoffee was good tooNegative points The menu offers many lunch specials but (be very careful when ordering) prices are subject to change without any written notice in the menu. Our lunch special went from 14,95 to 24⬠in a blink of an eye without any explanation written in the menu or from the toothless waitress.Food: the entrees were Portuguese sausage and meat cutsThe sausage was way too salty and full of fat portions. I would never recommend this entree. The cold cuts were mediocre and with no real taste or presentation. The bread was about 1-2 days old and not appetizing. There is no child's plate so ask what's available and above all ask for the price! Our main plate was The bean casserole, better known as feigouada in Portugal. Please stay away from this plate unless you like fatty meatless stews. The meat portions reminded me of middle school lunch menus.Again , I've ordered this plate in Portugal before and feigouada is served with rice. No rice was served with this lunch special. The resto offers an enclosed semi outdoor eating section, if you like to eat with smokers, this is the place to be.The food was fad and not at all Authentic. If your really looking for a great eating experience DO NOT EAT HERE.If you wish to risk your dining experience at this restaurant, ask what price is on all items. If nothing else, there's Mcdonalds right next door.
