Very pleased with the meal we had at Adega Moniz. Very nice staff, good food and wine. Will return for sure to try the rest of the menu. Excellent value for money. Highly recommended.

Located at the parish of Canical (Madeira Island), its specialty is fish and seafood (also with meat dishes). Come and try the unique flavor of our Fried Octopus, and delight in other dishes (rockfish, scabbard fillet, damselfish, limpets, or even steak).
I read reviews about this restaurant before I went to Madeira. I was impressed with the reviews so I visited this place last week. I had the octopus and I was not disappointed! The food here is beautiful. We caught the bus to it from Machico and had a cab back. Get your driver to give you the price first. This restaurant is exceptionally cheap, however the food is outstanding.

From a light lunch to a very generous sized dinner after a days walking this is a really good place to eat. Grilled meats are superb. The mussels with garlic bread make a wonderful lunch, Desserts are all home made and delicious. Portions are generous, three-courses would be too much for most people. The prices are very reasonable and the staff helpful, friendly and have excellent English. Many local people working at the airport are amongst its regular clientele. Definitely a go to restaurant in Machico.

Don't be fooled by the exterior of this restaurant which doesn't look anything special from the outside. It's actually really good and it has a stunning location right by the sea shore where you can watch the fishing boats go out in the evening and the sun go down over the sea.The staff are lovely and very friendly. We ate here twice and on both occasions went for fish, although from what we saw of other diners, the meat dishes also look good.I had scabbard fish, which is a local offering and a very light and delicate white fish and with no bones. I also selected the baked fish which was red snapper baked in a tomato and mushroom sauce with layers of sliced potato. It was absolutely stunning. The service on both occasions was excellent and I even got a full guided tour of the dessert cabinet. I just couldn't fault the place and we will return next time we are in Madeira.

We had heard about Lillyâs from a previous trip but had been unable to fit it into our itinerary! Big mistake!!!The restaurant is extremely relaxing very flexible and the food is outstanding! Do try the pre meal madeira wine - dry - it is a delight. We had the calamari, octopus for starters and the filet with mushrooms and RV for mains. Each were superb and the Alvarihno wine with it made our day! Thank you veru much for the comment, we are really pleased for your presence, customers are the reason for our door to be open, see you again, Thank you from all Lily´s team

Why this place is no longer No 1 in Funchal totally escapes me. I can only believe that other places have a load of âfriends â posting on their behalf. Not the cheapest but the food is exquisite, the service superb and the ambience fabulous. We eat here every year when we come to Madeira and the quality remains as high as ever.

Comida regional portuguesa
Lovely meal. We shared the Bruschetta for starters which comprised ham and tomatoes with mushrooms and parmesan shavings. For mains we had the mixed meat skewers, they were beef, chicken with pineapple with polenta and salad. For desert I had chocolate mouse with chocolate pieces, my wife had the mixed berry cheesecake. The meal was lovely, well worth a visit. At the end of the meal we were given complimentary Madeira wine.Dear Guest,Thank you so much for your visit and wonderful evaluation. We hope we can get the chance to welcome you again.Best regards,Regional Flavours.
