Love this place and the owner Carlos is a top guy, lovely home cooked style Portuguese traditional fare, very good prices.

First visit to Golega so we looked around before we chose Cafe Central, mainly because of its choice of menu and location. We selected the veal and lamb chop dishes with fries and rice, accompanied by the local wine and whilst waiting we sampled the regional cheeses and we're not disappointed. We took an outside table to take in the local ambience and we're impressed with speed of service and friendly attentive staff.

I heard about this restaurant for its tapas and visited for dinner with the family. When we entered we saw people smoking and speaking loudly in a relatively small space.I heard later that a separate non smoking room exists but no one in the restaurant approached us or did we see any indication of a dinning room so as unfair as it might be, our experience was short and poor.

Located in the main square in Golegã, with view to the main square where the horse fair is celebrated. Place is simply but nicely decorated, fairly large with comfortably separated tables. Service was really good, with the staff very friendly and helpful. The meat is great, specially the picanha which comes accompanied by white rice and very tasteful black beans. If you are around, it is definitely a good option.

I canât fault this place, the owner is in the dining room and his wife in the open kitchen, I ate 3 out of 4 lunches here and have never been disappointed. They have 2 daily dishes which you have to order as they are always so good. The desserts are also very good, great value for money. The service is also very nice and the place is lovely and decorated very nice. You wonât leave hungry.

At our restaurant Capriola you can savour the rich cuisine of the region and enjoy sophisticated dishes with Portuguese undertones. It is open to the public and closes on Sunday nights and Mondays.
Fantastic restaurant in this small Golega village. The restaurant is inside the beautiful Hotel Lusitano. Old private house with elegant decoration and very professional and kind staff . The dining room is perfect for lunch or dinner and if the weather is good the terrace is a plus. The food is really great with Steak Capriola, or the Octopus to be one of the best they serve. The wine list also very recommendable and you should keep room for desert.

Very nice room with nice atmosphere. There are only 5 to 6 options to choose from, the dishes are very simple and is traditional local cuisine. The food was OK.

Really great dishes of the day, plentiful and well-priced - and very easy-drinking house red. The menu goes beyond these bits though, with several core fish and meat dishes, excellent desserts, and a small wine list with very fair prices. The service was friendly and efficient

A really nice decor and friendly staff . If you had to this great food the combination is priceless. I really recommend it.I had the ox steak with crushed potatoes and migas ( a traditional Portuguese vegetable side dish) and my Mother has prawn curry. It was a very nice surprise.

Visiting Torres Novas and looking for somewhere to eat and grab a couple of beers..The town centre was quite but one place seemed very welcoming. Our spoken portugese is limited but no worries Ricardo Smith was on hand to guide us on a selection of local foods and we were provided with a great selection of meats cheese breads, chicken wings etc ...washed down with few Super Bock beers..and we were filled and happy. As the evening hours passed the place filled with locals enjoying the friendly laid back atmosphere.Highly recommended for a chilled evening with food and good vibes..Maybe come back to try the Tomahawk steak that is apparently to die for...watch this space...Your evaluation is very important to us.Thanks for your visit.gastronomic greetings
