Small restaurant with a dining room in the back.Typical food from Alentejo, delicious, with a great price and a friendly service. You definitely would not guess it from the outside, but if you're in the mood for Alentejo food it's definitely a great place to visit!I did it twice... in 2 days.

We were staying at a Pousada near by and were looking for a more genuine experience. We were recommended this restaurant and thankfully went. From the moment we stepped in the owner Joao made us fell welcome. Despite the restaurant being full and being the only English speaking people there he took the time to walk us through the menu and recommended some local specialties. As he said if you donât like we give you something else. We had fantastic local sausages, gazpacho, local cheeses and few other items. Local wine was very reasonably priced and great. For mains, we had lamb chops, rice and seafood and a few other items that were all fantastic. We sampled several desserts made by his wife as the regular baker was not well. All were superb. What a wonderful evening and we were treated like family. Loved it.

We had roast leg of lamb and lamb stew, both very good and the waiter was very kind and helpful. He suggested that my wife have just a half portion and just as well that half portion was more than enough. Good Alentejano honesty, thank you. We had the tinto house wine and that was good too.

Bike riding across Portugal, we went through Flor da Rosa and enjoyed coffee and water under an expansive tree in this little cantinaâs corner lot, right downtown . Like most in Portugal, your dollar goes far. Flow is an old 1900âs era railroad stop in this small city, with a long, flat cobblestoned Main Street.

Recomendo.

When you enter the restaurant of the Pousada do Crato, the most impressive thing are the windows overlooking the gardens and pool. When you have the menu and go through the room with your eyes, the immense stone wall of the monastery, built with wood into
The food was delicious and the service was great, although they could have 1 or 2 more servers. But the low point is the price because unfortunately for the restaurant you can find good restaurants not to far away at more reasonable prices, maybe not as elaborate in terms of combinations and presentation but definitely equally as delicious. Having said that if your staying at the hotel I would still suggest you give them a chance as it's still has a quite romantic and calm setting.

"A Mercearia" was a old shop that was converted last year to a small "tapas" place and a shop where we can buy local products. We went there in late afternoon for have some small food and we were very happy with what we got! Fantastic olives, bread, cheese, chorizo and a great wine all from Alentejo! And a great talk with the owner of the place, Catarina, that was very nice and friendly! A place to go if you are around Crato and want to have small food with good wine for a very decent amount of money!!!Agradecemos a vossa visita. Esperamos ter estado ao nÃvel da vossa preferência.
