You canât go wrong for local cabrita or other meats here. Amazing owner cook will treat you like family. Not much if any English spoken, but donât let that put you off. Point at a dish on the menu and ask, cabrita? Pork, vacca (beef)Everything come as with a nice mixed salad. House wine is very drinkable, but she has a nice wine list also.If you are offered a cheese with your bread and olives, take it, itâs cheap and probably one of the best goat and sheeps milk cheeses weâve had on this trip so far, and weâve tasted a lot.Price well below the other restaurant in the main center.
Restaurant located on Floor 0 of the charming Pousada Condeixa-Coimbra. Open to guests of the hotel but also to the whole community, it gives you a breathtaking view of the amazing garden and swimming pool. The cuisine is modern, part of the origin of gas
Everything went wrong in this restaurant. Sparkling water was ordered but a non sparkling was served. The required linguine turned out to be tagliatelle and the ordered medium filet mignon turned out to be almost raw. No word of apologies! On top of that, the atmosphere is not very exiting to put it mildly and the service is extremely lousy!Dear Customers,We regret that the service did not meet your ambitions. We appreciate your comment and analysis that allows us to try to work better. We are an ambitious team that needs constant input from our customers. We hope that one day they will be able to return and get a different image of our restaurant.Best regards,Jose Miguel

You can eat in the separate dining room for a meal, inside for a snack or even outside on the terrace overlooking the Roman ruins area. We were there 3 times in near succession. Once to overview the ruins and the next day (all day, into the evening) for the Roman festival with all the trimmings and a grand performance afterward. The 3rd time for the Beethoven operetta, his first, we had never seen before. It was quite well acted and was held near the back of the ruins to the left in the open air theater. The Restaurant staff is quite friendly and serves the snack or meal. Other than the snacks, everything was with no charge.

My wife and I had a really good dinner here, in fact, one of the best in Portugal. We shared the grilled octopus as a starter and this was very nicely done with onions. Main courses were the chicken and pork on skewers accompanied with rice, fries, salad and turnip greens. It was a lot of food but beautifully cooked. We finished with a shared sliced mango. A glass of wine recommended by our very attentive and professional waitress finished off a memorable meal. Do not miss this restaurant , it is very special. G and K from Oz

A place where traditional food and elaborated dishes are brought to you in a friendly environment. Best quality at an affordable price.
What to expect from a bar/restaurant on a petrol station forecourt? Well, in this case it is a big positive surprise. The place is much bigger than you think. Simple but bright and airy. An extensive menu with Portuguese food ranging from cabrito to freshly grilled chicken from their own large grill and from fish dishes to chanfana, beef, pork and even kebab. It is all delicious and very nicely presented on slate and wooden slabs where appropriate. The fries are superb. Home made and among the best I have ever tasted. On this occasion the restaurant was jam packed with locals and passers by alike. Prices very reasonable and the Pratos do Dia during the week include drinks, bread, olives, coffee. Recommended!

This is what in the States we would call a road house. It is directly on a main road that skirts Condeixa. In fact, even though the airline distance from our hotel was only a quarter of a mile, the hotel staff confirmed what we had gathered from the map and told us we should drive there, there was no easy or safe way to walk.It is clean, reasonably comfortable and well-lit (arguably to a fault), and the staff are welcoming and helpful (and one of the waiters actually had pretty good English), but the overall ambiance is perhaps a bit soulless compared with most small, independent Portuguese restaurants. They put out a nice selection of appetizers. If you are a first-timer to Portugal, most restaurants lay out fresh olives (warning to Americans: unpitted) and bread, usually with a small charge called the cover. Some restaurants â including this one - put out additional options such as tuna spreads, etc.; in these cases you are charged for what you actually consume, but the charge for any one item is very modest, usually less than a Euro. Just warning you that it is not actually âfreeâ.I had the house specialty, roast suckling pig (basically, the name of the restaurant), crackling included, and my wife had a cod dish. Both were served with rice and potatoes and a salad. Befitting a road house, service was FAST. The food was very tasty. Portions were very generous and in fact we took home enough to have a tasty and satisfying lunch the next day. The house red was inexpensive but a bit on the rough side, still, no complaints â hey, the cost of the bottle was significantly less than the cost of a single glass of bar-stock wine back in the States.

Excellent restaurant with a modern twist, mainly frequented by locals. Repeat visit and again a very good experience. On this occasion grilled salmon. Moist inside & crunchy outside. Delicious. One fixed price covers soup, breads, olives, wine, main course and coffee. The Dao house wine (from Silgueiros) is very good and so is the very friendly and professional staff.

With a strongly regional cuisine marked by the mountain countryside , we selected for you the best that exists in traditional products. The roasted lamb duly accompanied by roasted potatoes and boiled greens, a Condeixa specialty. Always with selected ing
This is really a fun place. I arrived at about 6.30 pm to find the place closed, and one of the regular patrons sitting outside waiting. So I joined him.The 3 members of staff, cook, lady owner and waitress arrived together 5 minutes before service, and quickly opened up.Service is nice and with a smile, albeit overwhelmed by the number of clients who quickly fill up the small dining area. They have a small list of daily specials, and everyone I talked to recommended strongly to stick to them. I did, and had a fabulous vegetable soup and a tasty half portion of cabrito. Mixed feelings. It was correct by all standards, but it was also reheated, which of course is to be expected so take this as a fact more than as a critic.Took me ages to leave because the 2 waitresses, one of them the owner who has to cash in your payment, are overwhelmed with full tables.Electronic or card payments were not available. Food is greatly priced, with the possible exception of the cabrito which I found expensive. They have fast and reliable wifi.Very good, I will be back.

Unfortunately it was really a bad experience. I was with two girlfriends, we made a reservation at 9.30 PM, our bad we never been in Coimbra and we walked there by foot so we arrived 5 min later. We came in and we wait 10 minutes until a lady yelled at us in Russian, saying that she already told us to wait outside! I told her that it wasnât us and that we had a reservation. She walked away without answering. Then came who we think was the owner (or manager). She was REALLY RUDE with us and told us that she called us at 9.30 but we werenât there so our table was gone..... we decided to wait a little bit to have another table. We wait until 10.30/45 PM and at the end they put us in the other room that they have (like tapas bar, not restaurant). The food was good and the staff nicer. If you decide to go, go in the tapas part!!!! Not at the restaurant!!!
