We were advised to try this restaurant by the local pharmacist and it was a very good recommendation. On the road to the 'Fonte' local recreation area this has seats alongside the mill race and serves the tourist staples and local specials such as dishes with broad beans and fresh peas. Around â¬30pp will see you well-fed and watered.

Breakfast is provided for 5 Euros and is a continental style buffet. Compared with many larger hotels the choice was limited, but perfectly adequate and good value for money. We were a little confused that hot options (bacon and scrambled eggs) seemed only to appear on some days and not on others. There were plentiful rolls, bread, jams and yoghurts. Fresh fruit though only appeared occasionally and on the other days a bowl of tinned fruit was provided. One type of sliced cheese and processed âhamâ was available daily â not the best quality. Cereals were cornflakes, coco-pops, mueseli and oats. Separate gluten free cereal was available for one guest. A Kona coffee jug provided some of the worst tasting coffee imaginable, however a machine which ground its own beans provided good espresso. There were the usual selection of teas and tisanes. Fruit Juice, orange and apple were provided. As we were staying on a half-board basis we ate at the hotel each evening. There is a separate half-board menu which provides a more limited range than the a la carte. The quality of the food however was very good indeed. Starters are limited to: pork pate, melon with cured ham, vegetable soup, or mixed salad â all came in generous quantity. Each day a main course special supplemented the menu and we opted for this most days. Again food was hot, cooked well, tasty and in generous quantity. Examples included grilled salmon trout with potatoes and veg (absolutely delicious), Wild boar stew with sauté potatoes. Desserts included, Tiramisu, chocolate mousse, almond tart etc. 0.5L of house wine cost 4.5 Euros and was eminently quaffable.

We ate in many Portuguese restaurants and we are used to their âno frillsâ approach. They serve basic fare, such as grilled meat, french fries and fish, the main difference among many of the same kind being service and cleanliness. This restaurant was recommended by friends, itâs definitely outside main tourist routes and it serves the usual basic fare with relative flair. We went for a Sunday lunch and we were a large group, but the whole service was relatively fast and the food good. We drank white house wine, which was definitely above average. The choice of dessert was limited, but I enjoyed my caramel mousse. Muscadel and medronho were served after lunch and much enjoyed. The place looked clean and was surprisingly crowded, even for a Sunday lunch. Price/quality is definitely worth a try if you are in the area.

We met some friends on a Sunday, hoping to find somewhere convivial for lunch. This place was about the only restaurant in Alte that was completely full, so we asked when they'd have a table. We returned 25m later, and they had one for us. Sunday is "specials only" day. The choice was sea bass, lamb chops, black pork, picanha (Brazilian beef) or duck (which was sadly sold out by the time we sat down). All for â¬10 each. Two of us chose the sea bass and the other two the picanha. All nicely presented, and served with either chips or boiled potatoes & salad. With the cover (delicious olives, bread, tuna pate and pickled carrots) a jug of very palatable red wine, a glass of slightly sparkling white, a large bottle of water & coffee it came to less than â¬55!Friendly service - both the waiters spoke excellent English. A real find.

We arrived very late to dinner and were very well received. The recommenation of the staff was boar stew that my husband promplty accepted and and I chose a steak with fries and salad. The plates were generous and we could not eat everything. We had sangria. The price was cheap considering the choice of the menu. The restaurant is very nice with a beautiful and typical decoration.

Located on the road from Ferreiras to Paderne, just about 6 km from Albufeira, you will find an unique place with a cosy and pleasant ambience, that take your gastronomic experience further ahead. Here Chef Ezequiel creates fusion cuisine, bringing region
My wife, like many other wives I imagine, has a 'thing' about washrooms in restaurants and I have had to leave a great number in the past owing to them not passing my wifes inspection.XEREM FUSION I am delighted to say past with flying colours and I was therefore allowed to sample some of their delicious food. Whilst they have a number of delighful looking appetizers, the couvert is ample when accompanied by a hearty fillet steak. Our steaks were cooked to perfection and accompanied by a pot of homegrown vegetables and Boulanger potatoes. The desserts were quite simply divine. I enjoyed the creamiest melt-in-the-mouth red berry cheesecake whilst my wife had a deconstructed Lemon meringue pie. With a bottle of Herdade dos Grouse at 17 Euros a bottle, 2 large bottles of fizzy water and 2 glasses of rose wine, the bill for 4 adults came to 120 Euros. VERY REASONABLE INDEED FOR FOOD OF THIS QUALITY. Thank you Restaurant XEREM. We will be returning very soon.Good morning, we're very happy that you enjoyed it and we very much appreciate your comment. Thank you
