This eatery is one of the rare ones in Tahiti to offers specialties from the "Marquise" archipelago (te Henua enata). There lamb and raw fish (the "mito") are mu favorites. The service is good and it opens as early as 10:30 am.

Whenever we're in Papeete (it was our 6th visit) we always make a bee line for this coffee shop/restaurant. It has an open courtyard in the centre of this commercial building between the Post Office and the cruise ship wharf. The "stars" are Hollywood/French actors appearing on the place mats. Having been on a cruise from Australia we opted for something quintessentially French, namely croissant (Fcp 250) and a Café au Lait (Fcp350). The servings of each were enough to constitute brunch, the service was so friendly and efficient that we can't wait to return for more of the same!

The duck salad was delicious. The seafood salad was just average however .The seared scallops were very tasty and generous portions . The fish dishes were good too. The only negative was the speed of service.Painfully slow but I suppose thats understandable as the lady serving is alone. Its not cheap but the quality of the food is first class.

We enjoyed our breakfast here this morning sitting under the fans in the open area, the only negative being smokers puffing away. My husband had the American selection of juice, coffee, omelet & baguette & I chose the Tahitian breakfast of juice, coffee, poisson cru & baguette. Poisson Cru is the local dish of raw fish marinated briefly in lemon juice & coconut milk & then lots of salad is added. I couldn't believe the amount of fish! There was so much I couldn't eat it all but it was delicious. The meals were quite large & priced very reasonably at A$16 each - cheaper than home. The service was fast, helpful & friendly.

We have been 2 couples touring French Polynesia. Service is not always no. 1 in the area, but at the Blue Banana we were surprised. The service ladies are running around all evening with eyes catching any customer that has a demand. The food at the blue banana is excellent and you have a great variety to choose from. Whilst i am sometimes put off from large menus, it seemed that here there was nothing to complain about, as we had all kind of different foods. We returned 3 times, whilst we were in the area only for 5 days. You need a booking, as they are well visited and I have never seen an empty table. That also speaks for itself.

Itâs a must in Papeâete to visit these lovely roulottes for food. We sat and watched all the stalls setting up which was cool, and the food was great and remarkably cheap for French Polynesia. We will be revisiting in a few days for our last night in French Polynesia & canât think of a more authentic ending to an amazing trip!

Very casual, cheap and wonderful food. Itâs essentially a food truck with quaint outdoor patio seating. Donât expect fancy, donât expect restrooms and do bring cash. Dinner for 4 was $57. The guys had steaks and the ladies had chicken. We couldnât finish it. it was great simple food
